Hibs 2 - 1 Celtic

Liverpool 0 - 1 Bayern Munich

Bayern Come Up Huge at Anfield
In the opening game of the season, Liverpool lost a tough fought match to Bayern Munich 1-0. The Man of the Match and lone goal scorer was the Irish International, Damien Duff. The game was typical of what you might expect from a team on the road in the CFM Premier League.  From the start though, Munich faced a problem when forward Ludovic Giuly went down with what was a sprained wrist, but luckily for Munich, he will not miss any games.
Duff opened the scoring int he 52nd minute when he took advantage of a Liverpool defensive blunder.  Evanilson, trying to find Lampard with a cross field header in his own half, was intercepted
Duff at a postgame interview
by Duff, who broke into the box with only the goalie to beat, putting it home with a textbook finish, low and hard into the bottom left corner.  Liverpool mounted know serious challenges, except for a few Figo long range attempts.  Munich held a slight advantage in possession.  While Liverpool's defense and midfield put in good performances, their strikers were practically non-existant. It'll be interesting to see what kind of changes Reds manager, Kyle Lebron will make for their next game, which will be at Celtic Park in just a few days.  Munich will have the next matchday off and will resume with Inter at the Olympiastadion.
