NEWS
July 17
Well. The Vikings lose again, dropping to 6-7. Dangit. Starmap just keeps beating me. Even though he is a mediocre tecmoer and has a worse record than me, I just can't beat him. Two of his measly four wins have come against me. If I would have won both games against him (which I should have) I would be 8-5, not 6-7. D'oh.
July 06
The Vikings fell hard to Ranatoro, 31-21. Their chances were killed with a Steve De Berg interception and a Vai Sikehema fumble, off the kickoff, which sealed their fate. At 6-6, they will need to win at least 3 of their last 4 games to control their destiny.
July 01
The Vikes (6-5) continued their winning ways with a balanced attack against the Jets (3-8). Neal Anderson hauled the football 16 times for 198 yards and 3 touchdowns while DeBerg completed 60% of his passes for 149 yards. The outcome was really not in danger, as the Vikings led 28-14 and 31-21, however the Jets tacked on a last second touchdown on 2 long jj's to Andre Reed, as Phil Simms passed for over 350 yards. The Vikings have tough games against Ranatoro and the evil arch enemy Starmap coming up. The Vikings must win both games if they expect to have a shot at the playoffs.
June 22
The Vikings won 2 in a row against easy opponents Seattle and New England, two of the worst teams in the league. Despite the 28-7 and 28-10 scores, the Vikings offense has still not played to par, especially in the passing game. The Vikings also are having a ridiculous time holding onto the ball. Roy Green fumbled TWICE in the N.E. game, both turnovers, and Stephen Baker fumbled againt Seattle. The Vikings O should have scored 42 in both games. Either way, the wins push the Vikings back to .500 at 5-5. A playoff run hopefully is in order.
The stats and schedule are now up to date as well.
June 2
The Vikings suffered two tough losses, one to Rob's Saints and the other in OT to Ranatoro's Giants. The Saints game was close until after halftime, when DeBerg, Anderson, and Hester all went in bad condition and Ronnie Lott went into excellent, thus ending the Vikings offensive chances. The Giants game was a heartbreaker, as after stopping New York on the 1, the Vikings took over only to have De Berg throw an interception. The Giants then struggled to punch it in on 4 plays from the 8, and eventually did so on 4th and 6 tying the game at 7 and not leaving the Vikings with enough time to score before the half. The Giants took the second half kickoff and scored, making it 14-7 New York. The Giants won in overtime when Andre Ware completed an 80 yard JJ to Willie Gault. I cannot adequately express my frusterations with Steve De Berg.
May 26
The Vikings bounce back and even their record at 3-3 with a 21-14 win at home against Philladelphia. The Vikings would have tied the game at halftime at 14 but fumbled at the 1. They tied it up on the first drive of the second half, and stopped the Eagles four plays in a row following first and goal from the 4, in the Eagles only drive of the second half. The clutch play of the game came on the Eagles second JJ attempt in a row, this one coming on 4th and 7. Manny Hendrix climbed his ladder and blocked the pass just as Haywood Jefferies was about to make the catch. The Vikes drove the ball 95 yards and scored the winning touchdown with 16 seconds left.
May 19
The Vikings lost a heartbreaker to the Cowboys 24-7. It was tough because the Vikings defense played so well. The Vikings offense was a completely other story, Steve De Berg did nothing, completing 16& of his passes for 17 yards and two interceptions. The worst part is that De Berg was throwing to wide open recievers. Neal Anderson played well, running for 184 yards.
The stats have finally been updated to date.
May 16
Two more games have been played, one against Green Bay and twister and one against Detroit and charlie. The Green Bay game was my worst loss ever. Twister only threw for about 260 yards, but considering the average length of his scoring drive only had to be about 40 yards it makes sense. I lost 42-0. NOTHING. I turned the ball over 3 consecutive drives in the first half and seriously thought about throwing something out the window.
In the Detroit game the turnover battle was virutally even. Charlie threw one more interception then I did but it came on 3rd or 4th and long and it was a long bomb into triple coverage so it was actually worse that I picked it off... anyway, I won 17-14 in a stellar game. With the game tied at 14-14 Neal Anderson fumbled away the ball at the 50 with 3 minutes left. With 1 minute left Barry Sanders was stopped one yard short of the first down and the Vikings took over on their own 25. Two short passes and a nice run by Anderson later and Al Del Greco booted the game winning FG with 5 seconds left.
One dissapointing bit of news is that DaBears has quit, leaving someone competent to take over his team thus throwing my late-season game with him, which at one time was a sure victory, in question.
April 30
The game summary from the Cardinal crapfest is now online.
April 29
The Vikings suffered an embarrasing 28-14 loss to the vastly inferior Cardinals. Despite numerous chances thanks to some excellent defense, the Vikes offense faltered mightily. Steve DeBerg completed 40% of his passes, throwing 2 picks. Stephen Baker dropped a surefire wide open 40+ yard TD pass and was completely silent.
April 28
Two days ago the Vikings won their first two practice game of the year, one against mysterio's Falcons and the other against Narula's rams.

April 20
Week one is over and done, 42-7 victory over the Patriots. Manny Hendrix played like an MVP, picking off 2 passes and playing spectacular defense. Teh Vikes passing game showed some promise but needs to improve greatly if the Vikes are gonna contend. The stats and summaries are up, and the Vikings schedule is posted. Except for two games against Starmap, who I always play horrible against, and a game against the defending champion JP, I really play alot of games against people I know nothing about. I don't even see Bruddog or Narula this season. The only ones I really know anything about on my schedule are Homer and Rob.
April 14
The draft is done and the page is slowly being updated. The season, as well as the trading deadline, is looming closer and closer...
April 3
The draft is underway and so far the Vikings have added QB Steve DeBerg, RB Neal Anderson, and DB's Manny Hendrix and Isaac Holt. Since one Chicago Bear RB, Johnny Bailey, ran all over defenses last year and finished near the top in the league in rushing last season, GM Jeremy Lind decided to pick up another Bear RB this season... NEAL ANDERSON.
