King Edward was born November 9, 1841 in Buckingham Palace. The eldest son of Queen Victoria of England and Prince Albert.In 1860 he visited Canada, inaugurating the custom of goodwill visits by members of the British royal family, particularly the Prince of Wales, to British dominions and foreign countries.
In 1863 he married Alexandra,who was the eldest daughter of King
Christian IX of Denmark. After the death of Prince Albert; the Prince and Princess of Wales assumed most of the court duties for Her Majesty Queen Victoria due to her being in mourning.
King Edward came to the throne in 1901 and ruled until his death at Buckingham Palace on May 06, 1910. He was known as Edward the Peacemaker because of his diplomatic abilities.
