| "Mali! Get out of there!" A blue fire-lizard comes darting, startled, out of the stone cut opening in the new weyr, and over the sunning ledge. He looks back over his shoulder, making sure he's well ahead of his tormentor, and as he does he crashes into the half dead tree, overhanging the ledge. The fire-lizard shrieks angrily, and begins to untangle himself from the branches. Just as he begins to launch himself to become airborne, a tall girl, about seventeen or so, emerges from the same "doorway", waving a a pile of torn fabric, an angry look on her face. "Stop right there!" The blue creature starts and turns scrambles around the branches to face his human bondmate. He lowers his head, and takes a stance of complete submission and apology. But there is no fear in his position, it is obvious he is not afraid of this girl. The girl sighs. "Oh Mali," The fire-lizard chirps happily and glides easily over to outstretched arm. The fire-lizard nuzzles her cheek, sending apologetic thoughts. The girl sighs again. "Why must you always choose my favourite sets of clothes to play "tunnelsnake" with?" The blue croons distractedly, and looks across the ledge at the view it gives him. The girl nods. "I know, beautiful isn't it Mali?" With that the blue launches off her arm and joins the small group of fire-lizards basking in the sun on another ledge, atop the waterfall. (Mali adopted from Dawnsister's Weyr) Tairya sighed and headed back into the "weyr" she inhabited, turning around once to see Mali and admire the beauty of the lake and waterfall right outside. She was still being angry about being forced to move here, but her father was a Masterherder, and this was the only place around that was safe for his beasts with Threadfall. "A beasthold in a weyr..." She murmured, "how strange is that?" |

| Tairya was known for her quiet intelligance, and flashy temper, and as she looked around her new quarters, she thought she, with her less than plain looks, deserved a little better than an old dragon's den.. The walls were dusty, tapestries were torn (at least the original, colourful, swirling design was pretty enough), and the dragon couch was bare of straw, all in all the place was horrible and smelly. Well she would get to work immediatly to remedy the dirt mess and smell, but the place itself was way too big. Maybe she should try to Impress more fire-lizards to fill the place up? It was large enough for two dragons, so for the life of her Tairya couldn't figure out why they put her there. Maybe to make her think she could Impress, so she wouldn't want to leave? Maybe.....No, Tairya had never considering becoming a candidate before. Afterall, she dreamed of becoming a Masterherder like her father.....didn't she? Tairya's mind raced with possibilities. What if.....I know they have some abadoned dragons at Dragon Soul..poor creatures...I could Impress one of them, couldn't I?...I could convince someone to take me there...I could Stand. Couldn't I? Suddenly Mali came bursting into the air right above her head, chittering excitidly. "What is it Mali?" Tairya asked. The blue swooped low and looked Tairya right in the face, almost with encouragement. Tairya's dark eyes revealed her amazement at his perceptiveness. "Do you think I can do it?" The blue fire-lizard chirped happily and made Tairya laugh with some of his special air-antics. "Well then," She says between her laughter and reaching out for her bonded friend, who came to sit snuggly in the crook of her arm, "I'm going to try. I'm going to be a candidate at Dragon Soul Weyr!" |
