1.    What are the objectives of DSCA?

DSCA has only been established since October 2002.  The aims of this association is to promote interaction between past students of Doncaster Secondary College (DSC) / Doncaster High School (DHS) and the wider school community including students presently attending the college and staff members.  In order to achieve this, social gatherings and other events will be organised for members of the alumni.  As well, it hopes to actively support the principles of the college and assist students to enjoy the benefits of an education at DSC.

4.    How can I be more involved in the association’s activities?

Ordinary members are allowed to nominate to be office bearers’ of the alumni during the annual general meetings or extraordinary general meetings.  The office bearer positions of president, general secretary, treasurer, activities and membership officer, and web designer/editor, involve management of the alumni as a society and coordination of events to be held.  They form part of the executive committee.

General committee members are non elected positions and are open to any members who are interested in assisting with organizing events and activities of the association.  They fall under the direction of the executive committee and are required to attend general committee meetings which are held at least once every 6 months.

6.    What are the future directions of the alumni?

Both informal and formal reunions will be organised for graduates of the college in the years ahead.  A mentoring scheme will also be organised, held between present students of DSC and graduates of the college.  The alumni will also be providing talks/ seminars for students of the college regarding university studies and careers.  It is hoped that in the future, a careers or business network can be established between graduates of the college providing opportunities for members of the alumni.
