The Working Dogs
These include Guarding dogs, Herding breeds and the Huskies. Guarding
dogs as the name suggests were bred to protect humans and their properties.
Herding breeds were bred for stamina, they evolved to work as a team with
farmers and shepherds e.g the Alsatian & the Collie
The working dogs are those that use their bravery or brawn to serve humans. They can be broadly divided into guarding or protecting breeds, sledding breeds, carting breeds and rescue breeds. In general, the working breeds are known for their intelligence and hardiness.
