The Shar Pei is a descendent of the
Mastiff and has existed in China for over 2000 years. It served the Chinese as a
herding dog and a guard god.
The Shar Pei was listed in the Guiness Book of Records(1978) as the rarest dog
in the world.
The folds on the coat need to be cleaned regularly.
