Anthony Usiaholo
Okonofua hails from Irrua in Esan Central Local Government Area of
Edo State in Nigeria. He holds a B.A (HONS) degree in Fine arts in
1984, Masters of Fine Arts (MFA) in Sculpture, Ahmadu Bello
University, Zaria , Kaduna State, Nigeria (1988-1999). He is currently
a Ph.D graduate student in the department of Educational
Technology and Library Sciences, University of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
He is at present a senior lecturer in the department of
Fine and Industrial Arts, University of Uyo. He has been a lecturer in
the University for the past 19 years . He lectures Sculpture, drawing
and African Arts, both at Undergraduate and Postgraduate level.. He was
also former coordinator, and taught General Studies, Nigerian
Peoples and Culture (1997-2004).
As Extra
Curriculum activities, he coaches students in Martial Arts Sports and Self
Defense (Judo; Taekwondo and Shotokan karate) which he founded
since 1985. Other sports include Football and Table and tennis.
Married to Paulina, a textile artist and merchant. H is
blessed with four children.
