So what on Earth is a Dedicant's Program you ask!?  Well, the best way to explore this is to visit Ar nDraiocht Fein's web site and read about it!  But in a nutshell it is a program designed to develop the skills and knowledge to practice ADF Druidry.  The program involves basic scholarly reading, meditation practice, the observance of the Wheel of the Year (the passing of the seasons) and education in ethical practice of Neo Pagan Druidry.

To complete the Dedicant's Program takes about a year, and includes the following:

    • Written discussions of the Dedicant's understanding of each of the Nine Virtues (1/2 page each).
    • Short essays on each of the eight High Days including a discussion of the meaning of each feast (1/2 page each).
    • Short book reports (1 or 2 pages each) on at least: 1 I-E studies title, 1 preferred ethnic title and 1 modern Paganism title.
    • Weekly journal entries detailing experiences in meditation for at least a five month period.
    • A once page discussion of the Dedicant's understanding of the meaning of the "Two Powers" as used in meditation and ritual.  This account should include impressions and experiences that the Dedicant gained from practical experience.
    • A brief description of the Dedicant's home shrine and plans for future improvements.
    • The text of the Dedicant's Oath Rite and a brief evaluation of the rite.
    • A brief account of the efforts of the Dedicant to find a Patron including an account of the Dedicant's Patronage rite.

The DP is currently under review by ADF, but I don't suppose it will change significantly.  You can check out my progress by selecting the links on the left!
