Anatomy of a Plastic Beyblade

Bit Chip: The bit chip serves solely as a decoration, but could be considered as a covering of the spin gear.  It does not have to be attached to a beyblade during battle to consider it legal.

Attack Ring: This is the part of the beyblade that will be making most contact with the opponent. This part will vary in its shape and size. See the strategy guide for more details on types of attack rings available.

Sub Ring: Some beyblades have a second lower attack ring called a sub ring. Sub rings must be attached to a compatible attack ring to be legal.  Sub rings can provide a special type of attack or defense to the lower part of the beyblade.

Weight Disk: This piece, of course, gives the beyblade most of its weight.  Weight disks will vary in size, and the amount of sides they have. See the strategy guide for more details regarding types of weight disks.

Spin Gear: This will determine the spin direction of the beyblade, and vary its weight. Many different SGs have been made, including the standard SG, a metal weight (MW), have an MG gear, an EG gear, or and HMC core.  No true SG exist in 4 layer system beyblades.  Instead of a normal SG, some blades will have a shaft which extends through the base and contains the tip.

Support Parts: These will only be found on V2 generation beyblades. SPs are equipped to provide a special ability and protect the base. They act almost like a second attack ring as the make contact with the opponent lower. SPs can smash attack, upper attack, and even spin steal in some instances.  Even though they were used on only V2 generation bases they are used is many plastic-only beybattles today.

Blade Base: This will determine the movement pattern of the beyblade. Most of the time it will contain the tip, unless the SG has a shaft. This part will be very aero-dynamic most of the time and will make little contact wit the opponent unless equipped with support parts.  The base provides extra weight and stability.
