Scene 12 Limbo & Bedroom somewhere in Chicago. (The MATRON addresses the audience. The BAND is playing CHICAGO AFTER MIDNIGHT under) MATRON: Well, here’s the way I got the story. There’s this Kitty – something or other. I didn’t catch her last name. Anyway, she’s some sort of heiress. Her folks are in pineapple, grapefruit, somethin’ like that. Well, she’s playing house in a Northside apartment with some guy called Harry. Harry spends all his time in bed. You know, a real mattress dancer… Last night this Kitty dame comes home… (GO-TO-HELL-KITTY enters) Harry’s getting ready for bed – and Kitty goes to change When she comes back, she notices something rather odd… very odd... (GIRL appears over HARRY, beat later another GIRL, and finally another BOY) ...extremely odd… puzzled – she disappears for a second and when she returns she gently awakens Harry… KITTY: Oh, Harry… HARRY: (Very reasonably) OK. You gonna believe what you see or what I tell you? KITTY: What I see! (She guns HARRY and the GIRLS down. They die in slow motion. Music out.) BLACKOUT (Music Up) REPORTER 1: "LAKE SHORE DRIVE MASSACRE!" REPORTER 2: "BESERK FELLY FELLS THREE!" MARY SUNSHINE: "GANG IN BED – ALL DEAD!" |
