| So the ages of Dragonscale passed, always battle and bloodshed at the Tree Of Life, battling to keep the Scale from the hands of the Irekei, and thus brings us to the current age of Dragonscale, the Age of Strife! In these times the Lord Marshall was Steven Dragonscale, born in Wainthorp, grown in Kings Cross, and battle hardened in the Denied War. Steven brought with him his own defense force of men, ladies, soldiers and friends, to help protect the Scale of the Dragon buried under the Tree, but soon found out, the Desert is truly a harsh place to survive. For a new Irekei threat was rising in the in the form of the fanatical Irekei guild N'Koth, led by the savage Khal. Allying with the creatures of the Desert, Khal would attack Dragonscale groups while they were resting from brutal battles with hordes of Orcs, attacking the weak and the wounded, killing entire groups. It was no rare sight to see Khal chasing around the young and the women, while the stronger men, too slow to catch him, chased in vain. When K'Noth attacked and raided the city of Dragons Keep in numbers, it did not take many of the skilled fighters to lay waste to massive numbers of Dragonscales. Alas, even to call in friendly guilds and allies such as Noblesse Oblige, Solaris, Circle of Free Knights and Order of the Fallen Leaf did little to curb the violent attacks. Often Dragons Keep was littered with massive amounts of graves, and few belonged to N'Koth. During this times massive numbers of recruits and soldiers were lost, fled, or killed for the eternal sleep, never to be seen again, never to work their way through the tunnel back to the Tree of Life, lost in it for all times. Through all this, the city of Dragons Keep itself grew and prospered, and through all the hardships of this harsh world, something precious was found, love. King Phillip of the City of Hope had sent his eldest daughter Destynalia to be wed to Steven. Given the last name of Dragonscale as a promise of vows, she arrived at the Keep, and upon the meeting of the two it was love at first sight. A tower was immediately put under construction, built by the finest craftsmen and stones from the Dwarfs of the north ice isle, Destynalia Tower was the cornerstone of the wall structure of the Keep. It was the place they were officially engaged, and spent many treasured moments together. Together, Steven and Destynalia also planted a Tree of Life seed for what was to become Dragonscale Noble, and again, using only the finest materials the lands had to offer, Twin Cathedrals for the wedding were constructed, and a small Castle was built for their home. Times, despite the fact that the desert sun burns bright, soon turned very dark. The rising of the Irekei began in full as clans such as Vra'akar and the Temple of Muja'adin joined K'Noth in striking the now Nation of Dragonscale. Although a Desert Alliance was formed, it did little to curb the attacks. Even though the allies were strong and could defend any bane, it was just impractical for the daily and constant defense needed to aid Dragons Keep. So the attacks continued with the Irekei clans burning many buildings, and laying waste to new city of Dragonscale Noble, destroying the Castle, the Twin Cathedrals, destroying everything. The rise of the mightiest Irekei clan was then to follow, the rise of Shadowclan. As Shadowclan and the other Irekei guilds grew, Dragonscale found itself in flames, but not until Shadowclan itself turned its eye toward Dragonscale was its fate sealed. The first attacks took out the most sentimental of possessions that Steven and Destynalia possessed, the Destynalia Tower. Awaking one morning to find it burning and in flames, a great sense of pain and sadness filled the heart of Dragonscale. Though the alliance helped drive off the raid that evening, the following days the Keep was swarmed by Shadowclan attacks for days, the few remaining Dragonscale members suffered under their constant attacks, until soon, there was no hope for the city, and the Dragons Keep fell. Steven, Destynalia, Captain Dextan Stoneheart and the remaining members fled to the mainland to take refuge in Destynalia's home city of Hope, ready to rebuild their lives. With hope of a better future.. hope of peaceful times.. hope for a long and wonderful future to come... |
