Writing a drabble is hard, but very much worth the effort if you are looking to improve your skills as a writer. Not only does it train you to use words intentionally and sparingly, but it works your creativity and can create ideas for much larger and better stories you may write in the future.
If you do not want to try indepedent writing so soon, or simply want to get a feel for drabbles, Halrloprillalar has provided an excellent drabble maker, for your use.

If you wish to make your own from scratch, a few choice steps and instructions here might help:

  1. Narrow your ideas as much as possible
    • remember, you have less than 250 words. focus on the idea or plot you want to write and stick with that --this isn't a time to explore that less-traveled road
  2. Check your word count consitantly!
    • it's easy to get carried away/go overboard, double-checking how many words you have is a necessity.
  3. Try avoiding adjectives and adverbs
    • yes, they make things pretty, but they fill up your word count as well and length is not something you can sacrifice with drabbles
