SCHOLARSHIP FUND
The Scholarship Fund was established to encourage snow sport instructors to continue their education, improve their abilities as both skiers and teachers, and to seek certification as an objective reflection of their skill and professionalism. The fund provides scholarships to defray the cost of the certification prerequisites and examinations.
By promoting continuing education, the Fund believes that instructors will endeavor to increase their level of knowledge, skill and professionalism all to the benefit of the general public.
Instructors who seek certification are tested under national standards and criteria established by the Professional Ski Instructors of America and the American Association of Snowboard Instructors. The training and examinations are administered by the western division, PSIA-W/AASI-W.
Scholarships are awarded for both certification examinations as well as accreditations in specialized areas recognized by PSIA/AASI-Western Division as well as coaching examinations offered by USSA
