On Tues. and Thurs. at 1 p.m. at Lions Community Centre in Stonewall you can enjoy Bowling, Golf, Tennis and Baseball; on Wed., Thurs. and Fri. from 9-10 a.m. try Archery, Billiards, Shooting Range and Curling. There will be volunteers on hand to assist. Come, watch, and try! Play alone or bring your friends! News from Oak Park Lodge: No suites are currently available at Oak Park Lodge. Oak Park Lodge is holding a garage sale in Woodlands on May 29 (10- 7a.m.) and May 30 (10- 4). This will be held at Oak Park Estates in their garage; for more info contact Lori 383-5478 or Jean 383-5532. Volunteers and items to sell are welcomed. Oak Park Estates in Woodlands will hold their Annual General Meeting on May 11 at 7 p.m. For further information, contact Jean at 383-5532. There will be a health talk on April 29 at the Greenwood Inn. The Health Education Series presents �Secrets of Eating Smarter�. Make smarter decisions to take control of your health. In �The Secrets of Eating Smarter�, Radka Prusha explains how modern nutritional science can unlock the secrets for living a longer and healthier life. She presents practical and simple fundamentals that are easy to make part of our daily routine. She encourages us to re-evaluate the choices we make every day that can affect our bodies at the cellular level. She explains the simple things we can do to make a difference for our own health and the health of our loved ones. May 3 is our Hike for Hospice. For pledge forms contact either Gayle at 467-5245 or the office at 467-7118. You may take pledges online also. Contact Gayle for the site and info. This event goes on rain or shine, so take time to remember a loved one and help SWDPC at the same time. Thurs., May 7 is our Open House, which we celebrate with a tour of the office along with hotdogs and treats. It is held during the lunch hour, on the patio beside the Town of Stonewall Building and by our office. Drop in and say hello, have a hotdog and participate in the activities. If you are unable to attend the Open House, then please join us at 7 p.m. at the Solarium at Lion�s Manor for our Annual General Meeting and Volunteer Appreciation. If you are in Stonewall on May 7, drop in to shop at the Hallmark Store and let them know you would like to help SWDPC or simply Palliative Care. Hallmark has very graciously offered to donate a portion of their sales from Palliative Care supporters on that day to SWDPC. So please drop in and let them know how much their generosity means to Palliative Care. SWDPC is very appreciative of Hallmark�s support. The major fundraiser for Southwest District Palliative Care is the Gala held on Sat., May 30, 2009 at the Royal Canadian Legion in Stonewall. Donations for the Rainbow Auction are welcomed.
