2004 BLITZ BUILD



July 26th - July 30th : “Blitz Build Week -

Build-A-Thon hours will be 7:00am - 3:00pm each day. The shifts will be four hours long. (7:00am - 11:00am & 11:00am - 3:00pm) to complete exterior of three homes and interior framing. Ten volunteers per house will be scheduled for each shift. Up to 1,800 volunteers hours will be worked during this week. The following groups will build homes:

House #1: Community Volunteers

House #2: King of King Lutheran Church, Fairfax VA

House #3: Americorps NCCC, Perry Point, MD

 

 


August 2nd - August 6th: Mechanical Systems Week - Subcontractors will install heating, plumbing and electrical systems. No volunteers will be working on the homes during this week.



August 9th - 20th: Completion Weeks - Volunteers for this

two-week period will include:

House #1 & #2: Twenty volunteers through Habitat for Humanity International’s Care-A-Vanners program help to complete the homes. These volunteers travel in their own RV and campers to various Habitat sites throughout the U.S. They will stay at a local campground or a church or school parking lot.

House #3: Americorps NCCC, Perry Point, MD

 

August 21st: House Dedication: Volunteers will celebrate the completion of the three houses as the homes are dedicated to the future homeowners.
