| SREB is working with the 12 university network partners to develop a school leader preparation program that emphasizes comprehensive school improvement and can be adopted by other colleges and universities. By applying reseach-based knowledge to solve field-based problems, the universities and SREB are making a difference in how aspiring leaders are tapped, trained, certified and prepared.
Recent research has shown that, nationwide, university educational leadership programs are lacking in quality in the most important aspects of leader preparation. The SREB University Leadership Development Network assists its 12 university partners in redesigning their leader preparation programs based on criteria identified by current research and practice.
