Balancing our Sacral Chakra

The Sacral or Genital chakra is our seat of balance.  Our sexual, creative,
emotional and social issues all flow from this chakra.  If this chakra is out of
kilter, we will experience problems in these areas.  To keep it balanced we
must look after all aspects of our health, and be passionate about everything
we do and believe in.  A healthy attitude to sex is essential to emotional and
physical well being.  Take pleasure in everything do.  Stimulate your senses
by wearing beautiful clothes, perfume and jewellery.  Listen to beautiful
music - take up dance or yoga to explore the flow and movement of your
body - dance your Sacral chakra into balance -Encourage your creativity to
flow in whatever form it takes - art, poetry, creative writing, cookery, knitting,
sewing, crafts, childcare or homemaking.

Water is the Sacral chakra's controlling element. Encourage your inner flow
b experiencing water.  If you live in West Dunbartonshire, visit Balloch
Country Park, and walk through the Fairy Glen at the very top of the park.
This is a magical downhill journey along a peaty, tumbling burn as it splashes
its way over mossy rocks  and through fern filled banks, overhung by ancient,
gnarled trees covered in beautiful silver and yellow lichens.  At the bottom of
hill, the burn empties into Loch Lomond, and you are treated to a glorious
view over the loch to the hills and mountains beyond.  A perfect walking
meditation to balance and recharge your Sacral chakra.  If you live elswhere,
walk along the banks of a stream or lake, or walk by the ocean.

The Sacral chakra is sensitive to the moon as the moon governs the tides.
How does the pull of the moon affect you and the tide of your emotions?
Do you feel different at different cycles of the moon.  Does the full moon
affect you?  Do you dream about water?  Write these observations in
your journal.  Focus on moon energies and listen to your dreams.

The Sacral chakra vibrates with the colour orange.  Wear clothes
with a touch of orange or tangerine, and wear amber jewellery. Eat
fruit and vegetables with orange flesh; oranges, tangerines, apricots,
sweet potatoes and mangoes.  Grow orange flowers in your garden.
Water is a precious resource.  It's something we take for granted,
surrounded by lush, green countryside and beautiful lochs and rivers.
For huge tracts of the planet, water is an ever diminishing resource,
it's scarcity a matter of life and death.  Treat water with respect and never
waste it.  Be thankful that we have it in plentiful supply.

Meditation

This short meditation should help you to balance your Sacral Chakra.

Once again, take the phone off the hook, and tell family and friends not to
disturb you for half an hour or so.  Place some oranges in a bowl and light
an orange scented candle.  Scatter some citrine and amber crystals on
the table.  Put on some gentle, water related music ( try the beautiful 'Aquaria'
by Diane Arkenstone - www.neopcifica.com), and make yourself comfortable,
lying down or sitting with your spine gently erect.  Close your eyes and begin
to focus on your breath.  Imagine a beam of light shining onto your Crown
chakra, and as you take a deep breath in, your Crown chakra begins to open,
and with each in breath it opens a little further, until it is fully open, and the
beam of light floods your Crown chakra with beautiful golden light.  As you
continue to breathe, this golden light makes it way down through your
chakras, deepening in colour as it fills each chakra....first the Third Eye or
Brow chakra... the light deepens to a yellow gold....breathing into the Throat
chakra...a deeper shade of yellow....flooding into the Heart chakra....deeper,
darker, yellow...into the Solar Plexus where yellow is welcomed as the
vibrational colour, and burnished to an even deeper, golden colour, and
finally, as you breathe the light into your Sacral chakra it turns into a deep
orange as your Sacral chakra opens to this colour like a flower opening to the
sun.  And as you breathe into this chakra, begin to focus on your out breath,
and with each out breath, breathe out any thoughts about your sexuality you
don't want or need.  Breathe in, breathe out any feelings that tell you you are
not creative.  Breathe in, breathe out any resentments and grief you may be
holding from old, dead relationships.  You no longer need them.  You have
moved on.  Breathe in, breathe out all thoughts, feelings and emotions that
Stifle and inhibit you.  Breathe in...breathe out...Tell yourself,  'I am  confident
about my sexuality and my creative abilities.  I am well balanced, centred and
whole, and my life flows in creative peace and harmony.'  Meditate further on
this affirmation for a while, and when you are ready (when the music finishes
is a good time), bring yourself gently back to normal waking reality, stretch
and have something nourishing to eat and drink.

Blessed be.
