TREATMENT
There is no cure for Sjogrens Syndrome.
Treatment is to decrease the discomfort and reduce the harmful effects of dryness,
treatment is tailored to each individuals needs
Medications that deplete the body fluids should be avoided
Mild pain relieving medication, anaglesics or non steroidal anti-inflammitory drugs can reduce joint and muscle pain
Saliva substitutes can be prescribed including pastels and sprays
artificial tears or lubricating ointments give relief to the eyes is some cases silicone plugs will be inserted in the tear ducts to prevent the tears draining away.
Nasal preporations are available to moisten  dry nasal passages
Women should seek advice about vaginal dryness there are many safe lubricants available
