Roma II
Right -  Piazza Navona is where you will see the very splendid Fontane dei Fiumi, designed by Bernini.  This photo was taken during our night tour of Roma.  The fountain represents the 4 major rivers... note that it's difficult to get the entire statue in one photo, so this is a close-up of one of the figures.  He represents "The Ganges" river which represents Asia.  The others are The Danube, The Nile, and The Amazon.  Each face the direction of one of the rivers - il nord, il sud, l'est, and l'ovest.

Below - Also at Piazzo Navona is the Fontane Del Moro, designed by Bernini.

Fontane di Trevi -Where the movie  "3 Coins In The Fountain" was filmed.
Above - The very awesome and beautiful Fontane di Trevi.  Magnificent doesn't even come close to describing this fountain. The legend says that when you toss coins into the fountain you will one day return to Roma.  This photo was also taken on our night tour of Roma.  We spent a bit of time here at the Trevi taking photos, throwing coins into the water to ensure our return, and meeting people who also wanted their pictures taken in front of perhaps, the most well-known fountain in the world...

Side note:  Directly across the narrow cobblestone street next to the Trevi, is a nice little gelateria where visitors can enjoy gelato while walking around the fountain.

The Appian Way - long stretch of road from within the Christian CatacombsVisiting here was indeed, one of the most moving & spiritual experiences of my life.

From where I was standing, if I turned around in the opposite direction the view was the same.  This is a very long road!
