The NORRIS family are among the more interesting of my lines, if only because they owned or ran a number of Inns, most of which are still (1998) recognizeable and open under the same sign names, but alas, no longer in the family.  They include the Cock and Bottle (Gt Gaddesden), Red Lion (Water End Hemel Hempstead), Royal Oak (Widford, closed but now a house), Kings Head (Ivinghoe) and perhaps The Bull (High St Berkhamsted).
They seemed to reach a peak of prosperity in 1852, but after that it was downhill all the way !
Other descendents of this line have been traced in Pasadena CA,USA, and possibly still in Hertfordshire !
