My   EYTON  ancestors

Welcome - you are visitor Counter  since 20 July 2001

The name EYTON seems to have come from the settlement of the same name, part of the parish of Bangor Is-coed (also known as Bangor Monachorum* or Bangor-on-Dee), Flintshire, Wales:  Eyton lies on the opposite side of the Dee from Bangor, and was in Denbighshire.
(* this is the name on the Church)

I have been able to contact two other descendents of Thomas and Elizabeth, and one possible although none still have the traditional surname.   They are spread from Lancashire, England, to Saskatewan Canada to Oregon USA.  The last has news of other descendents in Japan.

Here is what I have found so far:  (there is a Thomas who married Mary Roberts in Worthenbury (an adjoining parish) in 1764, and a Thomas who had a son Thomas at Bangor in 1766,.  but he/they are not connected with "my" Thomas (head of Table).

In early Registers, the poor mother's name is not mentioned despite her major contribution to the birth, and this makes it more difficult to be certain of family links.

I am building a database of EYTON/EATON (the spelling varies , sometimes at the whim of the Minister) events in Bangor and surrounding parishes to see if I can establish any older history.  (If you know or want to know anything, Email me).
