With years of experience in clothing design and manufacture, Di's life has been totally taken over by her doll designing business now. Her dolls are trendy, fun and always incorporate heaps of strong colours. Embellishing, interesting new techniques and trying out unusual new products such as Tyvek as well as free machine embroidery are included in Di's repertoire these days. Di's website, and online classes are very popular places for doll makers to visit and learn.

She is also known all over the world for her amazing Newsletter which is huge in size and content and which promotes both designers and doll makers. Being invited to be profiled and submit a project doll for a recent issue of Dolls, Bears and Collectables was a big thrill, so is the chance this year, to go to San Francisco to attend Doll U for the first time. The future is looking bright!

Unleash all your creative skills and transform the "Abundance Goddess" from an 18 inch doll made using ordinary calico and nylon lycra to a beautiful, colourful, heavily embellished figure you will treasure forever. Just place your Wish in her basket and wait for it to be granted. Techniques to be taught in this class are: transforming calico using dyes, pastels, shiva sticks, dimensional paints. Stamping of fabric. Use of fancy and fantastic threads and yarns including metallics for head dress and wrapping arms. Sewing and dealing with nylon lycra for the Abundance face and hands. Wire armature in arms and articulated slim fingers. Face painting, sculpting and decorating. Embellishing with beads and sequins. Colour co-ordination and meanings.
