I am an experienced and trained art/craft teacher and have taught since the late 1960's. I have taken workshops throughout Australia. In the embroiderer's guilds, patchwork groups, museums and senior schools. My work is represented in private collections and in the Queensland Art Gallery. The areas I work in are, embroidery, quilting, printmaking, photography, jewelry, gilding, costume making, collage, decoupage, doll making and craft writing. I am passionate about recycling textiles and using them in my work. I collect Japanese kasuri fabric, vintage florals from the 1920's - 1960's, buttons and buckles, old laces and braids. These beautiful things inspire me. As a tutor I can inspire others to be confident and to be bold and 'just do it'.

Transform everyday fabrics to rich opulent ones. Working with metallics on fabric - gold, silver and bronze and glitters. You will experience working with - Dutch gold leaf, paints, foils, luster, powders, opalescence, glitter sprays, embroidery threads, beads, metallic fabrics, leather, buttons, and painted finishes. Students will prepare a large variety of samples and will experience working with many new products. Notes on all techniques provided.

Using a specially designed screen-printed basic doll you create a handsome decorator item or a classic Italian friend! Students hand paint and detail their doll using fabric paints and threads etc. No preparation is needed.

Kit: $45.00 Screen printed doll, beads, buttons thread, flowers and stuffing. Tutor will provide any tools as well as all the screen printing inks and any equipment that is required to complete this project. Notes provided.
