Shiny paintwork has been discovered on the Chevette. Hidden beneath a layer of white cracked laquer for the last year and a half, it looks to be in good condition despite the fact it probably hasn't seen polish since a Vauxhall monkey did it at the showroom. Thanks to Meguiars three stage system!
Kadett is now a running car following the fitting of that newly recored radiator (at least it won't overheat - dramatic pause), but the exhaust is still loud enough to scare small children three streets away so that needs fixed. Changed the gloop in the sump that was pretending to be oil, new oil is already black so think it will need changed again in the spring. Good for winter!
Thought I'd give the Astra a mention this time round, she is the unsung hero in all of this taking me off to far flung parts of Scotland in search of Chevette/Kadett parts or a fireworks display. Only fair she gets the recognition she deserves! Just replaced front brake pads and one rear coil spring for MoT, needs two new front tyres for winter. It isn't only old cars that cost money! |
