23/9/06 - Castle Bushy holds strong against Castle
In the Bushy Arena this afternoon, Dartry put up a brave display in the wake of last week's calamitous effort. They went down to an unlucky goal but somehow managed to hang in and grab a late equaliser through a Denis Hunter sidefooter. Dartry showed good resilience and had a decent shape in midfield. The unwelcome spectre of defensive ineptitude reared its ugly head on numerous occasions but today Dartry managed to pull a great result out of the bag. The team showed a resilience that hasnt been seen in a long time in Bushy and the result was fully deserved, Dartry having dominated for parts of the game.
16/9/06 - Crumlin feed off Dartry's crumbs
A lacklustre defensive display gifted Lower Crumlin an unexpected victory in Bushy today, as Dartry, who had gone 3-1 up and were playing some decent football, in what has now become trademark fashion, pressed the self-destruct button and served up 3 easy goals on a plate for local rivals Crumlin. This is the umpteenth time that Dartry has been victim to such a comeback and no doubt a post-mortem will have to take place.
9/9/06 - Belmont Belted in Bushy
Dartry saw off vastly inferior opposition with some stunning goals and a fine attacking display in Bushy Park today. O'Rourke, Boyle, Groenland and O Fitzgerald all scored long-range scorchers to ensure Dartry's campaign got off to a winning start. Dartry were quite simply a league above their counterparts today and showed the world exactly what they are capable of.
29/8/06 - Brophy return rumoured
The Herald AM today reported that Dartry and Gerry Manager were on the verge of a shock re-signing of former Dartry superstar Gavin Brophy. Brophy left the club in disengenuous circumstances last year but is thought to be hankering for a return to Bushy Park. However, Gerry Manager was coy when asked about Brophy; "Gavin is a top class player and will possibly go down as Dartry's greatest star of two years ago. We would welcome him back to the club with open arms but no move has been discussed as yet"
29/8/06 - Dartry Announce New Signings
Penny Peeorrbitsch, Dartry's Press Officer, today confirmed rumours that two new additions have been added to the Dartry squad. Peeorrbitsch told a large gathering of journalists that goalkeeper Danny O'Reilly and left-back Eugene would be joining the club on year-long contracts.
The signing of O'Reilly ends Gerry Manager's long and arduous search for a top quality goalkeeper after the departure of Dartry legend Rob Mannering. O'Reilly comes with a high reputation and is believed to have demanded wages in the region of 45,000 per week.
Eugene is represented by the same agent as club hearthrob David Fassbender and was in fact encouraged to join the club by Fassbender.
Gerry Manager told journalists; "O'Reilly and Eugene are two big name signings and hopefully their arrival will spur Dartry on to greater heights"
