Harm always made his home in Parkersburg with his parents and his brother Ernest. He never married.
Harm had trouble with the veins in his legs being ulcerated. He was in Allen Hospital in Waterloo for a time, and then they transferred him to the University Hospital in Iowa City. He was in Iowa City for quite some time, and they did surgery on the veins, but they got blocked and he died.
