Rendez Vous in Quebec City

RENDEZ VOUS A QUEBEC
OPMED '99 and DMA Clinical Study Day
2nd THROUGH 6th
NOVEMBER 1999
Quebec City, Quebec

The Defence Medical Association of Canada (DMA)
in concert with the
Canadian Forces Medical Service (CFMS)
is pleased to invite you to attend these two events.

Canada's premier Military Operational Medicine conference is scheduled to take place 2-4 Nov 99 in Quebec City. This three day international conference on Operational Medicine (OPMED) is held every two years. Although it is organized and sponsored by the CFMS, under the direction of the Surgeon General of the Canadian Forces, the DMA provides important support to this event. OpMed'99 will again be followed by the DMA Clinical Study Day (CSD) on 5 Nov 99 and the DMA Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 6 Nov 99. There will be various social events including a mess dinner on 5 Nov 99 and celebrations related to the centenary of 55 (Quebec) Medical Company and the 30 th anniversary of the 5 th Field Ambulance.

CFMS's OPMED'99 with the DMA's Clinical Study Day and Annual General Meeting will provide a total five full days of events, medical education and a review of the recent activities of the CFMS.

A host of seminars and presentations will be made
within the overall heading of :

Disaster Medicine

The varied CFMS deployments and activities as well as
related subjects of interest will be presented and reviewed, including:

Ice Storm Swiss Air 101 Crash Hurricane 'Mich'
Bio-Chem Terrorism Post-Deployment Stress

Continuing Medical Education (CME) Credits from the Canadian Colleges of Family Physicians and of Physicians ands Surgeons will be applied for once the program is complete. It is of interest to note that the combined OpMed 97 and DMA CSD & AGM provided 23.75 CME credits.

Beautiful Quebec City in the fall is, without a doubt, an ideal location for these two events. The city offers an outstanding number of attractions to visit and provides an unique historic background. Add a few extra days to either end and enjoy!!
