Frequently Asked Questions

What is ROTARACT?

The Rotaract Club is an international network of organizations for young men and women that fosters leadership and responsible citizenship, encourages high ethical standards in business and promotes international understanding and peace. Formed in late 1960’s, it boasts of 6,750 Rotaract Clubs in 146 countries as of the year 2000.

Rotaract Club of DLSU is part of a large network of clubs under an international program for young men and women who believe that they can make a difference, and whose aim is to develop the leadership and professional skills of its members and communities through Four Avenues of Service (Community Service, Club Service, International Service, and Professional Development). Aside from serving its members, it also serves its immediate community by providing programs that will meet the community’s needs. Rotaract promotes friendship, fun, and goodwill while developing individuals, communities, and international linkages.

Through the Rotaract experience, Rotaractors eventually emerge as responsible, compassionate, and professional young citizens of the world. Our core competence is that we belong to a network of Rotary and Rotaract Clubs around the world that carries a theme: “Service above Self”.

What does ROTARACT stand for?

It is merely the combination of the words ROTARY and ACTION, and stands for Rotary in Action.

What exactly does ROTARACT do?

Although a large part of our projects are community-service/outreach, we are also involved in projects that develop professionalism and leadership qualities in our members, introduce members to various companies for future employment, and promote goodwill and friendship between different ROTARACT clubs internationally.

What will we benefit from joining ROTARACT?

You will feel the ROTARACT experience as many other Rotaractors had. You will sense a wonderful change in yourself as you make a difference in the lives of communities, have a drive for personal development, and interact with people who share the same passion for service. Involvement in ROTARACT can be very addictive, indeed. It is common for active members to want to continue what they started with ROTARACT even after they graduate.
