The opening of Captain Eo was similar to the opening of Star Tours. There was a soft open before the grand all out weekend party. A few days before the opening, these pictures were taken as publicity photos were being shot on top of Space Mountain.

On opening day every one received a Captain Eo T-shirt. The line for the attraction wrapped around the Rockets, down through Tomorrowland towards the Hub, then right down Main Street. At times the lines reached to the Train Stations.

At night Disneyland lite up the night with lazers, music and the Captain Eo logo slide show appeared on/off some Tomorrowland buildings
