More movies that really made me laugh, cry, and overall enjoy more than Cats. By the way, I did see Cats on Broadway and let me say to everyone right here and now - that big fat cat you see in all the commercials and ads - is a big {expletive} jerk. As a little kid he totally denied me a handshake/autograph after giving 6 of my fellow classmates one. I hate him I hate him I hate him. Thank you - I just proved you don't need a shrink. Just make your own site and vent in anyway you choose. More on movies... |

Planes, Trains and Automobiles - This film offers a terribly funny cameo by Edie McClurg as the rental car agreement woman as well as the comedic duo of the late John Candy and the man, Steve Martin. This movie made future one's like Black Sheep and every other SNL character movie, a possibility. I have never seen my own father laugh so hard. |
Brewster's Millions - Richard Pryor inherits a boat load of cash but needs to spend every dime of it. And boy does he get creative. That guy from the Law and Order is even in this film as well as John Candy and some guy that tries selling him an iceberg. Eddie Murphy must have taken notes from Pryor. |
Amadeus - By far one of my favorites of all time. I find Mozart to be the finest of all Renaissance/classical musicians and plus he was also an Aquarian. This movie has it all - humor, drama, helluva soundtrack and Jeffery Jones (the principal in Ferris Beuler's Day Off). If you haven't seen this movie and you enjoy a good story as well as cinematography, costume and set design, quality acting and classical music - rent it asap. The fall/winter is the best time of year to watch this film. |

Coming to America - Easily Eddie's best movie. He plays more characters in this film than you can believe. Thought Nutty Professor was funny - check out the movie that first tested the limits to dirty behavior and multiple self-performances. How classic is this film? Well, Sam L. Jackson robs a McDonalds rip off in this bilm - his bad ass behavior a pre-requisite to Pulp Fiction. |
Real Genius - Val Kilmer is one strange guy these days. Can you blame him though. He is never one to attach himself to a certain way - even with scripts. But it makes sense. He was not a part of the Brat Pack and wasn't part of the Whack Pack either(Downey Jr., Andrew McCarthy, James Spader, etc.) He was his own self that just fit in where ever whenever - sort of like me I suppose. You like popcorn - no better movie to watch while eating popcorn. A great character, a great enemy and a few dorks for good measure. Fun flick. |
Pulp Fiction - I know this movie rocks, you know this movie rocks. And we all know the soundtrack was kickin as well. Grease boy Travolta comes back to the screen and makes other old school actors envious of his incredible come back. |
Goonies - If you grew up in the 80s or were about the age of the characters in the movie when you first saw it - you wanted to be a Goonie. I was a goonie, I am a goonie and will always be in search for One-eyed W's treasure. Younger generation of the whack pack started here - and in... |

The Saint - Another Kilmer flick where he or his character does his own thing. A great soundtrack with Luscious Jackson and the Chemical Brothers. We also got to see changes in Volvo, Nokia and other techy things. Great good guy/bad guy and foxy object of attraction in the middle kind of flick. |
Stand By Me - Steven King hit gold when his story about the Body got adapted to film. Richard Dreyfuss as narrator, members of 2 whack packs: Kiefer Sutherland, Corey Feldman and that fat kid who later became Neve Campbell's boyfriend in Scream 2. Ah, the story of Lard Ass. |
The Thomas Crown Affair - First he plays James Bond, then this guy. Pierce Brosnan has either the luck of the Irish or one damn good agent. He only takes a few roles but when he does, they are huge - ok, Mrs. Doubtfire is an exception, but you get the point. I want to be Thomas Crown. What a cool dood. |
Scream - I hadn't seen a movie or scene of a movie that actually scared me in years - especially in the theater. The opening scene of this film is by the gnarliest and a big mind screw taboot. If only the rest of the movie was AS scary. But the rules of horror flicks make this a genuine classic and must have in collections. |
Caddyshack - Bill Murray and Chevy Chase played characters you will never forget in this golf classic. I just wish they never made the second one. Eesh. |
Halloween - Yep, this movie scared the Bejesus out of me as a kid. I hated it so much that I now love it. John Carpenter, Jamie Lee Curtis, creepy Dr. Loomis, one irritatingly scary score and that masked freak Michael Myers. Try sleeping after watching this one. |
Rushmore - An older Bill Murray takes on the challenging role of being an adult - sort of. His characters always resemble an old child. No change with this soon-to-be cult favorite. I hope. |
Rear Window - Ok, there is absolutely no order to this page. But that shouldn't keep this movie from being on it. No on-screen death or anything, yet remains one of the most mind-bending thrillers of all time. Looking forward to seeing the redo of this classic Hitchcock film. |
