Film Favorites

Everyone has their favorite flicks - you know, the one's that you have watched at least 15 times, or you know all the lines for (which drives almost everyone around you crazy) or the one's you watch at certain times of the year just because. I have set up some of my personal favorites for whatever reasons. I think I won't be alone on some of my choices.

Ferris Beuler's Day Off - Ok, anyone that went to public high school in the US can relate. The cast is incredible and have all moved on with the exception of the very cute "Sloan Petersen". This movie will stand the test of time and will continue to encourage bad electonica bands (Yello), rebel high school kids, and garage attendants to have the time of their lives in any way they see fit. Perfection.

Dazed and Confused -  I saw this at least 12 times my first year at NAU. Pickford has become another nickname of mine over the years and also - just listen to that soundtrack. I am thinking that Richard Linklater and John Hughes should have their own links. Whatever.

Airplane: The Movie - The Zucker brothers are comic geniouses when working with film. They broke every rule in the book and have sandwiched more jokes per minute than any other comic movie writers. This movie is the pinnacle of their work. If you don't laugh 783 times during this film - you must certainly have no sex life. Then again, you might not have a sex life because you quote this movie all the time. Captain Oveur and out.

A Christmas Story - Ralphie said it best - Ohhh Fudge. We all dealt with the crazy-gift-giving aunt, the strict father and the bully. This movie is a staple during the Thanksgiving-Christmas season.

The Breakfast Club/16 Candles - The Brat pack was alive and well in these 2 flicks. What ever happened to Gedde Watanabe - you know, the Donger?

Weird Science - Gary and Wyett are lonely geeks that have the time of their life, even "without a license Lisa". If I could, I'd watch this "every damn night".
