Week of 5/16/02 - Battle Royale 2002
We decided to finish up the 40 guys on the table by going about 1 more turn. The heros continued their dominance on the field, with Tandum continuing in its success. Blackstar, Hellspawn, Quake, Wasp, Hunter were the villains that fell and only the mighty Creature who was doubled by very accurate killers fell for the heros. Another 3 of 4 characters were down and just about out when time ran out. We have packed up the tables, but agree small battles of about 10 heros and 10 villains should definately continue. Stay tuned... GFB-- has just gone to GBR- Galactic Battle Royale!
Week of 5/14/02 - Battle Royale 2002
Well, we played for 26 hours total and only 65 contestants were removed from play. 40 are currently on the table as we decide how to proceed. A further 105 or so characters are still left on the selection table. Viper A has the highest kill total at 8 (which breaks the record of 7 set by SwampThing a year ago) However, 7 of Viper A's kills actually occurred while he was under mind control and were actually villain eliminations... Tandum leads all teams with 27 points, Viper's SAVE is in close second with 21. Tandum however still has 5 of 6 members on the board and 2 members in the draw. Viper's SAVE has only 1 member on the board and only 1 member in the draw. The Mutant Alliance (last year's team victor) has just started to arrive on the board and already has 13 points. Team Chaos and ShadNin's Team are tied for fourth with 9 points, but all the members of team Chaos have been eliminated. 2 Members of Shadnin's Team are still in the deck and ShadNin herself is on the board. The first phase action on Thursday was still probably the best action of the tournament so far, but a lot of cool moves have been done. Overall The villains are winning the tournament mostly due to numbers and the fact that 12 villain kills have come from mind controlled villains. The heros however look to be holding up the best with over half of their point winners still on the board. I believe the battle royale will be called off in favor of smaller battles. Random teams of 10 or so heros and villains will meet and point totals will be a massed. This is of course if a super hero role-playing game doesnt start up soon.
Week of 5/12/02 - Battle Royale 2002
The 1st turns action wasnt very impressive. only 3 more characters were eliminated in the first half of the turn. While 8 new characters entered the fray. Among the dead are Black Lightning, GridIron(surprise loss), and Shadow Boxer. Only Black Lightning was take-out impressively. MerCreature has recovered from his tank hit, Firebird has recovered from crashing into a house. Vega, Badlands, and Gravetech are all close to death. Horrible misses and lack on major damage slowed this round. The bricks need to get closer to the quick guys and more weaknesses need to be exploited. But the real action begins today.
Week of 5/10/02 - Battle Royale 2002

Players roll to see what speed character enters and then they take one from the pile (over 250 strong). You may attack anyone, but people in your own Champions group regradless of which team they are on. Heros will of course attack villains first, heros on opposing teams second... etc. The battle lasts 1 turn after all characters have been selected. 1st 12th phase action: Well to make a story short - Gridiron is frozen by ice and is in danger of being elimintated. Shadow reflects ViperR's blast and sends him falling from 100', Lightningstrike, Sword, and Fire team up to eliminate Treant. After much beating - 4 nasty killing attacks, Tunnel Worm is eliminated before it even moves. Heart gets caught by a car, gets knocked back to the fall off area and gets eliminated by SledgeHammer. Creature tosses a tank and burys MerCreature. FireBird gets leveled by a big rock and crashes into a house. But only 3 of the original 40(39 maybe?
