South DakotaSouth Dakota has always been one of my favorite states. When I was a kid, my parents used to travel to Colorado during the summer at least once every couple years or so. I tried to show my wife, Amy, all the sights I saw during those years on this trip.
The next significant stop on our
journey was at the Badlands. No, not the off-roading area in rural
Indiana. The REAL Badlands. The ones they won't let you drive all over.
It's a very beautiful area. It would be fun to drive all over them, but
that would ruin them pretty quickly.
This was on our way out of South
Dakota. I think this tunnel is on the Needles Highway. Very pretty
scenery! We snapped this pic before heading through the tunnel in our
1998 Chevy Blazer.
