A Weight to Drop
Notes of (possible) interest
To me, the "distance" that appears to be
the theme of this piece is both literal
and metaphorical.

I once dated a girl that lived in Texas.
Her name was Michelle. Great girl for a while,
but I just couldn't handle being with someone I couldn't be with.
Plus, she turned out to be a little (to say the least) insecure.
There are plenty of poems about Michelle,
because, when it was ending with her,
I was writing A LOT. And, of course,
I write what I can't keep inside of me; what I need to purge
I felt bad for her... but then she put me through some real BS.

I wrote this piece just after I ended it with her
but just before she threatened suicide, anorexia, and depression. Yeah...
