Brief introduction to drawings:

I played the role of an assistant in a design team working on the preparation of proposals for a new Canal Boat Builders Factory. I had to assist in the preparation of preliminary working drawings.

For assignment 1 I had to produce the following drawings (Click to view layouts in PDF format):

• Preliminary gas distribution layout

• Preliminary electrical distribution layout

• Preliminary cold water distribution layout

• Preliminary hot water and heating distribution layout

For assignment 2 i had to produce a schematic layout for one of the workshops in the factory showing the gas, water and electrical installations to the following workshop equipment to comply with the requirements of the CDM and health and safety regulations:

• Large flat bed circular saw/planer/thicknesser

• 1No welding bay (gas welding)

• 2No Metalwork Lathes

• 2No Woodwork Lathes

• 1No Pillar Drill (free standing)

• 1No Pillar Drill (Bench mounted)

• 1No Circular/belt sander

• 1No Spray booth (with compressor)

• 4No Double workbenches with Vices

• 1No CNC Router

• 1No Jig saw (free standing)

Once all the equipments were arranged accordingly, I then had to add a dust extraction duct to the wood work machines a ventilation duct for the gas welding bay, spray booth and the workshop.
