if you can raise somebody from the dead, then you can do a lot of things. that was a man who expected to see the dead raised.
i challenge you to find me a good reason why we shouldn't expect to pray and see the sick healed and the dead raised.
when Jesus walked on water, the disciples thought He was a ghost. peter thought otherwise and called out to Jesus saying:
"Lord, if it's you, tell me to come to you on the water."
"come," says Jesus.
so peter steps out of the boat and begins to walk on water towards Jesus, but about half way there, he sees the wind and the waves and begins to doubt, and so begins to sink. Jesus walks up to him, pulls him up and then says the most extraordinary thing:
"you of little faith."
peter has just walked on water, and now Jesus says he has little faith. mark aldridge said if he'd been peter he'd have been outraged. he'd had enough faith to walk on water. walk on water! and now Jesus says to him, "you of little faith."
but this is actually very encouraging, and forms the message of my rant, which is that Jesus says "you of little faith" to somebody who walks on water, it means that a little faith goes a very long way.
