| abortion |
although this isn't exactly one of my areas of expertise (lack of uterus) .. i still have a general opinion on the matter. personally, if i were a woman, i would never abort my child. however, i am not a woman, and i have no clue what women go through. but a life is a life. or is it? i think banning abortion is nuts, but it definitely should be regulated. perhaps the cut-off point for legal abortions should be when the babies fully develop their brains. but hey, like i said. i'm not a woman. i really wouldn't know. |
| drugs |
heh, i'm a little more proficient on this subject than the above. i haven't tried everything, but i've been exposed to enough kinds of drugs to make a pretty founded conclusion. i always used to ask myself: if walmart is selling beer and cigarettes, why is marijuana illegal? i still am. i mean, it's obviously a capitalistic thing.. damn the man. and although potheads sometimes get on my nerves, i'm still a semi-advocate for the legalization of good ole ganja (not that i'm an avid user.. i just believe that if you can grow something in your backyard, you have the right to do with it as you please) .. as for the hard shit (laboratory-made) .. i'm pretty much against it .. yes, i do quite frequently recite the "to each his own" cliche, but with this, i've seen too many people completely fuck up their lives. (although, i'm still debating whether or not ecstacy is good.. pure ecstacy, not the standard mystery batch you get on the street) |
| gay people |
screw pride. i'm proud of being me, not of being attracted to other boys. i don't care if it's environmental or genetic, so freaking what. people are people. if one more pathetic-excuse-for-a-minority throws another self-righteous parade down main street, usa.. i think i'll be forced to become a republican. when are some people going to realize that ostricizing themselves is not going to help diversity? gay clubs, gay bars, gay beaches, gay applebees. what next? gay water fountains and restrooms? we're doing it to ourselves. if you want to be treated equally, don't try to put yourself on a pedestal. there's a huge difference between pretending to be flamboyantly queeny and being naturally femanine. |
| religion |
if it sincerely makes you happy and convinces you to strive to become a better person and give back to society, go for it. if you think that using it as an excuse to degrade or demolish another human being with a conflicting viewpoint, then you're just fucked in the head. personally, i think most religions are intrinsically "right" .. i believe that there is a greater being that produced us (whether it be a god, an alien, or a giant chia pet) .. i also believe that the only bridge we have between this supreme power and our meek little minds is our conscience. so, the wise men who wrote those nifty little books (the bible, torah, koran, etc.) .. were apparently extremely in tuned with their consciences. all major religions revolve around a single idea: compassion. i'm pretty sure that means something. how could billions upon billions of people be wrong? now, i'm not preaching free love or anything, but if you think about it, a "sin" in the bible is (minus a few misinterpreted words from tarnished hands) an act which somehow harms another person, directly or indirectly. so, i think the key is just to be good. be nice. love everyone (not sexually). anyway, it works for me. |
