Résumé

Background
My teaching experience actually begins in 1981 when I was first invited to teach computers as a freshman in high school after
the town of Yarmouth, Maine invited me to discuss how best to integrate
computers into the school district and adult education curriculums. Since then, I have
accepted numerous opportunities to teach. Occasionally, I did
not know the material myself before receiving the request to teach. I was asked
because of my
willing attitude and prior teaching experience. I have taught for
volunteer groups, business entities, government agencies and public and private
educational institutions. I
have taught according to each group's design and goals. My teaching
experience has frequently led to unsolicited requests to teach. Among those was
a request by Primerica, a subsidiary of CitiGroup, the world's number two
financial services firm. At the end of
most teaching assignments, I have turned the assignment over to one of
my students. Much of my experience also includes managing teaching programs and instructing teachers in their
profession as well
as actual teaching.
Certification
I have begun taking the necessary steps towards
certification. Standardized testing includes:

Work History
|
SAN
DIEGO STATE UNIVERSITY (SDSU), DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY, San Diego,
California
Lead Research Associate
|
5/1997 - 8/2002 |
|
Assisted principal investigator in the
daily functioning
of research group. Directed, trained and supervised members of research team
in the specific techniques for electroanalytical research. Training was
required to elicit willingness in members of the group to:
|
 |
understand the chemistry involved and the short-term and
long-term goals of the overall research |
 |
perform experiments consistently |
 |
be willing to repeat experiments to show reproducibility |
 | utilize custom and standard software to the
fullest extent possible |
 |
apply proper safety procedures during experimentation |
 |
record results in a common method of categorization to allow
other members to repeat experiments directly from lab journal |
 |
receive reinforcement on training by principal investigator |
|

Physical Chemistry, first semester |
|
 |
Consistently received high marks in student and faculty
reviews. |
 |
Taught computer lab course to introduce computational
techniques commonly used in laboratory experimentation utilizing
modeling programs, Excel, Maple and MatLab |
