Disney Tips and Tricks
MGM - Page 2 of 2

1.  Chinese Theatre - Check out Goofy's print outside the theatre.  He wrote, "I'm Stuck"!  He also wrote "Hrswag" which is "Gawsh" spelled backwards!
Minnie also put her paw prints in the cement outside the theatre.  Her prints are dated 5/1/89, the date the park opened.

2. Great Movie Ride - At the beginning of the ride, the call out to C.B. is a tribute to director and producer C.B. DeMille and to the famous movie line, "I'm ready for my close up, Mr.  DeMille" by Gloria Swanson in the movie Sunset Boulevard.

3.  Great Movie Ride - As you enter the abandoned mummy's tomb, look carefully at the Egyptian figures on the wall. In the back right hand corner, there is a small figure of Wicket the Ewok from Return of the Jedi.

4.  Great Movie Ride - During the gangster sequence, look for a pair of shoes sticking out from under the door. Those don't look like gangster's shoesthey look more like a pair you would find in the wardrobe at Mickey's Country House in the Magic Kingdom!

5.  Great Movie Ride - In the ganster scene, the license plate on the car is "021-429".  This is the date (02/14/29) of the Chicago St. Valentines Day Massacre ordered by Al Capone.

6.  Great Movie Ride - In the Raiders of the Lost Ark scene, look for a hidden Donald having lunch with Mickey.  It is on the last pillar on the left.  Other hidden characters in the scene are R2D2 and C3PO from Star Wars!

7.  Star Wars - In the queue area, you'll hear a page for someone named Egroeg Sacul. If that doesn't make any sense, check out what the name is when you spell it backwards...

8.  Star Wars - Can you find a Hidden...Kermit? Yep, Kermit! You'll find him in the queue area in the room with the moving baskets. Look to the right to see a futuristic Kermit made out of spare droid parts. (Of course, it's just a coincidence that the MuppetVision 3D theater is right next door...!)

9.  Star Wars - In the queue area, listen for a page for "Mr. Morrow, Mr. Tom Morrow". (He probably won't hear the page, Tom Morrow is hanging out at Innoventions in Epcot!).   You will also hear this page when riding the Transit Auhtority in Tommorwland in Magic Kingdom!

10.  Backlot Studio Tour - As you're strolling around the AFI Showcase shop after you've exited the Backlot Tour, look around for the sign marked Character Prop Stop. There you'll not only find your favorite characters for meet-and-greet opportunities, but you'll also happen upon stacks of wooden crates. If you lift the lids, you'll be treated to a cacophony of silly sounds -- they'll give you the giggles!

11.  Sunset Blvd - Above the Disney Villains store is a window that is home to the offices of the International Brotherhood of Second Assistant Directors. Their motto, painted on the window, is "We're Standing Behind You!". This is a sly reference to the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular show, where the second assistant director tells the extras not to worry about a dangerous stunt because he will be "standing right behind them"!

12.  Sunset Blvd - Outside the Disney Villian store look for the Gold Cadillac parked on the street.  It has a ticket on the car!

13.  Sunset Blvd - Along the sidewalk in Sunset Boulevard are a number of contractor stamps embedded in the curb that read "Mortimer Bros. Construction Co., 1928". Mortimer was the original name of Mickey Mouse, and 1928 was the year he was created.

14.  Rock and Roll Roller Coaster - One of the PA announcements in the G-force records lobby is something to the effect of, "phone call for Jude on line one... Hey, Jude, pick up line one!"

15.  Rock and Roll Roller Coaster - The 5 limos have personalized plates that read:  10KLIMO, UGOGIRL, BUHBYE, 2FAST4U, and H8TRFFC.

16.  Rock and Roll Roller Coaster - Listen at the doors to Studio A and B, you will hear sounds from real recording sessions some of which came from Aerosmith's re-recordings for the coaster.

17.  Tower of Terror - In the lobby, look for the directory posted on the right-hand wall. Some of the letters have been knocked off and are sitting in the bottom of the case. Cryptically, the letters spell "evil Tower U R doomed"!

18.  Tower of Terror - The inspection certificate of the elevator is numbered 10259.  This is a reference to The Twilight Zone show which first aired on 10/2/59.

19.  Tower of Terror - In the lobby, look for a pair of glasses with broken lenses. This honors the Twilight Zone's episode with Burgess Meredith, the last man on earth after an atomic blast, who loved to read. He finds the remnants of a library and is all set to finally read to his heart's content, when he accidentally breaks his glasses!

20.  Lights Camera Action - Keep an eye out for Herbie the Love Bug who makes a special appearance in the intermission towards the middle of the show.
