Made entirely of clay, Golems are perhaps the only creatures capable of defeating a troll in a fight. Enormous, untiring, they will work constantly at the command of their masters. They are controlled and activated by special words written on scrolls placed inside their heads. If you take a golum's words, it can no longer function.There is a movement of golum freeing however, where other free golums are earning money to buy owned golums, in exchange for reciepts that transfer ownership to 'the bearer'. When placed in the golum's head, these free the golum, who now owns himself.
