DISCOVER VA is owned and operated by Bob & Lisa Venner, of Virginia Beach.
We started the Camp on a lark, mostly for enjoyment, but since have become serious about the need for kids to learn,
understand, and ENJOY the things we share with them. Bob Venner - ...born and raised in "Old Princess Anne County", spending time in all the areas the City of Virginia Beach is now trying to preserve and giving an almost "at home" feeling to the many places we visit during our "camp adventures". Taught Water Safety, Swimming, Life Saving, Rowing, and Canoeing. Served several years as an Infantry Officer in "ultimate service", the United States MARINE CORPS! Trained and taught Marines land and sea survival skills, land, air and sea navigation, orienteering, and other life skills relating to handling emergencies. Semper Fi! Bachelor's degree in Biology and a Master's degree in Education Teach Chemistry, AP Environmental Science & Biology in Virginia Beach City Public Schools. Certified in CPR and First Aid. Lisa Venner - Lisa ("Lucky" to her friends) was born and raised in North Carolina B.S. degree in Nursing registered hospital nurse Bachelor's degree in Business Administration CPR & First Aid certification (as well as her charming personality!) All of these "skills" are critical to DISCOVER VIRGINIA! Whether by design or by luck, Lisa's and Bob's backgrounds happen to have uniquely qualified us to operate DISCOVER VIRGINIA Adventure Camp! as both have submitted to numerous background checks in the course of securing our "Day Jobs", (Top Secret military security clearance!) Letters of recommendation and references available upon request. DISCOVER VIRGINIA is licensed in Virginia Beach and all campers are completely insured with an extensive liability policy.
