For the Winter Season, no doubt the key event is the following
exhibition:
"I segreti di un collezionista
- Le straordinarie raccolte
di Cassiano dal Pozzo (1588-1657)"
(The secrets of a collector
- The wonderful collections of Cassiano dal Pozzo)

Born
in Biella, but with his entire life spent in Rome, politician
and man of deep culture, with interests ranging from art to science,
from botanic to botany to zoology, Cassiano dal Pozzo has played
a key role in Rome cultural life (the so called "roman baroque"
is the result of a complex network of relations between Dal Pozzo
and the most valuable artists of the period).
In this exhibition people can see more than two hundred works
of art (pictures, sculptures, ancient furnitures, manuscripts,
etc...) from Cassiano dal Pozzo's collections. To have more details
about this event, please take a look at Biella's administration
website (alas, in Italian only), where you'll find all the information
about history, biography and collections of Cassiano dal Pozzo.
