Let's admit it: you just can't happen to pass through Biella. You have to come here on purpose. Your effort, however, is rewarded by what nature and history can offer you in Biella. If, then, you like the idea of shopping in some of Italy's most famous ouotlet Stores (Fila, Ermenegildo Zegna, Cerruti, Piacenza, only to mention some of them), then Biella is really made for you!
Where the flat lands end and the Alps begin, there you can find Biella. Thanks to this particular location, we can say that the climate is particularly good in Biella: never too hot in summertime, never too cold in winter; fog, is hard to be seen.
Within minutes by car, you can reach cool and silent valleys or you can lay down on a beach at Viverone lake, or you can cycle within the rice fields, in open countryside: it's difficult to find such a varied environment in so few miles.

Getting to Biella is easy: if you're on A4 motorway (Turin-Milan), take Carisio (if you're coming from Milan) or Santhià (if you're coming from Turin) exit and then follow the arrows for some 20 km. Biella is waiting for you!
If you're coming by train, then, Biella is linked to Santhà and Novara with two different lines. Both of these cities are on the main Turin-Milan line. To have firther details about timetables and fares, please check out Trenitalia (Italy's railways) website.

Here on the right you can find a map with the main road links (click on thumbnail to enlarge the picture).
