Radio 2 session

Dave and Abi played an acoustic session on Radio 2 this evening (Thursday 26th). Boyan was meant to be playing, but due to a mix-up, his guitar never arrived at the studio!

The two tracks played were ‘Havana Gang Brawl’ and ‘Zuton Fever’. The band spoke about the forthcoming Mercury Prize award, along with a mention about the debut album, along with the forthcoming single and tour dates.

Zutons Go Back To The Future!
Today's NME (25th August) features a news story on the forthcoming single...

"The Zutons have looked to The White Stripes for inspiration on their forthcoming single. The band have been recording at London's Toe Rag studios, the same vintage complex where Jack and Meg White laid down their landmark 2003 album 'Elephant'. The sessions have spawned the latest Zutons single, ‘Don’t Ever Think (Too Much)’ , which is out on October 4.

Frontman Dave McCabe assured NME that this isn't a sign of the band turning revivalist. He said: "We didn’t want to make a record that sounded old; we wanted to make a modern-sounding record in the most natural way."

Of the song, McCabe said: "It’s about a fella who’s on the top of a cliff about to jump off and then he stops and thinks ‘I’ve been thinking too much about everything, it’s time to settle down, time to chill.’ You know, about how your head races all the time. I think that’s part of growing up really; you don’t realise what’s wrong with you and someone says 'You worry too much or think too much about things.'"

The single is the first material to be produced by Liam Watson, and is released on 4th October... my apologies for the awful scanning!
