OME springs, shocks
and steering dampener installed by Kees Tijsterman, NL.
Kees favourised the OME springs over a Rancho kit. I had never heard of OME by that time and was sceptical. Kees' experience as a Paris-Dakar driver however convinced me. I was sure he wanted to sell me the better kit. Now after already 10 years (1996-2006) of driving this kit I have never regret it. The ride is softend, the shocks prevent nose-dive when breaking and you can drive pretty fast over road-ramps. It's a fabulous kit! Thanks for the advise Kees!
In september 2006 I added 1" taller
shackle's in rear and 2" longer shackle's in front. The 30" tires rubbed a bit from scratch on. I had the tires installed because I had read on the internet that it would be the maximum tire size with the OME-kit. And it is. Now, 10 years later, the springs have sagged a little. Together with disconnecting the sway bar (= stabilizer bar / roll bar) the tires rub now unacceptable. De shackles are intended to compliment the OME-kit. Soon after ordering at Rock-Road Outfitters they arrived at my homeadres. I expected them in bare metal but to my surprise they where black powdercoated. Also all installation hardware was included. Installation was easy. Quality is superb!

Future modifications:
Coil suspension system from Rocky-Road, USA or the JP-Eater kit from Rocky-Road.
The coil suspension gives a 8" lift and is designed to fit 33". It offers flexibility, ride quality and control.
The JP-Eater kit is a Wrangler spring conversion system. YJ-springs are combined with a SPOA kit. With this kit you can sit easy on top of 33" tires.
