(same place) ~~~ Action! In sync... As
Toria walked into the club where the party was being held, she realized that
maybe she might be a little in over her head. She looked around her. The club
was chic and trendy with two bars in the large room. There seemed to be a
never-ending stream of beautiful people; of willowy blonds, leggy brunettes
and striking redheads. Toria
glanced at Lisa, who was dressed in one of the dresses she had made. It was a
short, sheer silk, cream dress that had spaghetti straps and buttons running
down the side. It complimented Lisa’s light green eyes and golden-brown hair.
Toria acknowledged to herself that Lisa fit right in with the rest of the
women there. Unlike me. Toria thought as she looked down at her strapless,
knee length dress that was a light grey that matched her eyes. Her long black
hair was piled atop her head, and tendrils of it were falling out of the bun.
She just couldn’t control her hair. And she felt short even though she was
5’7. Everyone else was at least 5’l0, including Lisa who was almost six feet tall. As
she and Lisa made their way to an empty table, Lisa said to Toria, “Unnerving
isn’t it?” Toria
looked at her friend with surprise. “Are you nervous?” “Well,
obviously Toria. The people I meet at this party could really help me. Aren’t
you nervous?” “Not
really,” Toria said, as they both sat down at a small round table. “I only
wanted to be here to see if I could get some advice on my designs. If it
doesn’t work out I won’t be distressed over it or anything.” Lisa
looked around her. “I don’t know what to do with myself. Should I introduce
myself to people or wait for someone to approach me.” “Lisa,
if you wait for someone to approach you, it will never happen. Look at all
the people here,” Toria said as she gestured to the crowd. “You’re
right, I’ll just go up and introduce myself.” Lisa said getting up. Toria
grabbed her arm. “Lisa? Do you even know who to introduce yourself to?” “Umm...no.” Toria
smiled at her friend. “Why don’t we wait for Dana to get here? I’m sure
she’ll be able to introduce you to some people.” Lisa
sighed. “You’re right. Dana said she was going to be here by 12 anyway.” Suddenly
‘Ride wit me’ by Nelly came on. Toria
grabbed Lisa’s hand and dragged her onto the dance floor. If they were going
to wait for Dana, they might as well enjoy themselves doing it. … “Chris,
I swear to God!” Dana screamed. “Dana,
stop screaming for shits sake!” Chris said, his usual cheerful demeanour
gone. “Oh
no,” Justin whispered to Joey. They
had just gotten into the club and Dana and Chris were fighting because Dana
wanted him and the other guys to do a favour for a friend of hers. “Chris
you didn’t just swear at me did you?” Dana asked, still screaming. “Are
you deaf? Yes I just swore at you!” Chris’s face was turning red. “Why
don’t you guys just calm down?” Joey said, trying to pacify the two. “No!”
They both screamed at him. “I‘m
tired of doing all her friends favours!” Chris exclaimed. “Uh
Chris? We already said we would do it,” Justin said quietly. “I
don’t care what you said. I won’t do it.” “You
have to be the most pigheaded, stubborn...” Dana stopped screaming as she
noticed Lisa James, the girl she wanted them to help, across the room. “Lisa?
Over here,” she said waving at the tall golden haired girl. Lisa
glanced over and saw that Dana had arrived and she was waving her over. Lisa
looked around to see where Toria was. She had gone to get a couple of drinks
a few minutes before and Lisa didn’t know whether to stay and wait for her or
go see Dana. She decided to go over and see what Dana wanted. “Hey
Dana! Thanks so much for the invite.” “Oh,
it wasn’t a problem. Lisa, I’d like to introduce you to a couple of friends
of mine.” Dana
turned to the boys. “This is Joey Fatone, Justin Timberlake, and this is my
very annoying boyfriend Chris Kirkpatrick.” Lisa
smiled at them politely and then almost immediately she realized who they
were. “Oh.
My. God,” she whispered, as her eyes widened in shock. Joey
turned to Justin laughing. “Why do we always have that effect on girls?” he
asked. He
turned to Lisa. “I’m very pleased to meet you,” he said taking her hand and
kissing it smoothly. Lisa
blushed. “Lisa
don’t pay any attention to Joey,” Dana said. “Anyway, I have some great news.
The guys are going to do a video for their last released song from this cd,
and they said they would love to have you in the video, if you wouldn’t
mind.” Lisa’s
eyes widened even more. “Are you serious?” Dana
glared at Chris. “Am I serious, Chris?” Chris
grumbled. “Yes you are.” Dana
beamed and gave him a big kiss and he chuckled. “Well
that disaster’s over,” Justin said amused. Lisa
looked confused yet happy. She was going to be in an Nsync video. She
couldn’t wait to tell Toria. Uh oh, she thought. Toria! … Toria
wandered around the club, wondering where Lisa had gone. She had just gone to
get them a couple of drinks and Lisa had disappeared. Toria sighed and put
the drinks down on a nearby table. Monica’s “Just Another Girl” had just come
on and she loved this song. She would look for Lisa after the song was done,
she thought, as she moved onto the dance floor. Justin
was on the dance floor with Lisa. Joey was getting a drink and Dana and Chris
were sitting laughing about something. Lisa smiled shyly at Justin. He was so
cute she thought and she was dancing with him. Then she thought about Toria. “I
have to go look for my friend Toria,” she screamed over the music. “Okay.
I’ll help you look for her … after the song,” he said giving her an
endearing smile. She
nodded and they continued to dance. Suddenly
Justin smelt something familiar. A soft, flowery scent. He realized that it
was the same scent as the one from the airplane. He was about to turn to see
where it was coming from when Lisa grabbed his hand. “Can
we go look for her now?” “Uh,
yeah,” Justin said distractedly. They
made their way through the people on the dance floor, when someone
accidentally knocked into Justin. “I’m
so sorry,” she said over the music. “No
problem,” he replied. But then realized that he was talking to air because
the girl had disappeared. Toria
rubbed her shoulder. She had hit her shoulder pretty hard when she had
knocked into that guy. When she got off the dance floor, she looked back to
see if Lisa was there. Finally she noticed a cream dress. “Lisa!”
she screamed over the music. … Joey
walked over to Justin. He was balancing five drinks in his hands. “Here grab
a couple.” As
the guys tried to juggle the drinks, Lisa heard her name being called. She
turned and saw Toria waving at her. Lisa grinned at her. “I
found Toria,” she said to Justin. “I’ll be right back.” She
ran over to Toria. “Where have you been?” Toria
gave her a fixed stare. “Who was the one that disappeared? You knew where I
was going.” Lisa
had the decency to blush. “Sorry. Dana came and she wanted to see me so...” “Don’t
worry about it.” “You’ll
never guess what happened to me. Dana introduced me to some people.” Toria
smiled. “That’s great.” A
new Timbaland song started up suddenly. “Can you tell me about it after? I
love this song. Let’s go dance!” They
ended up staying on the dance floor dancing with a couple of people they had
met. By
two-thirty Toria was worn out. Lisa, though, was still going. “I’m
going to get out of here. Are you going to be okay?” Toria asked Lisa. “I’ll
be fine. I’m going out with Dana and some other people to get some coffee
after this,” she said smiling. “Okay.
Be careful and call me tomorrow.” Toria smiled. They hugged and then Toria
made her way out of the club. … Justin
yawned. “I’m out. Anyone else coming?” Dana
shook her head as Lisa walked over to them. “Lisa and a couple of us are
going to go out for coffee.” Chris
and Joey decided to go with Justin. As they walked out of the club, they
noticed an intoxicated guy trying to get in the front seat of a car. Justin
ran over to him. “Hey buddy. I don’t think you should be getting into the
car.” The
guy looked up at Justin, his eyes blood shot and droopy. “I don’t give a fuck
what you think!” he said as he got into a red sports car and tried to get his
seat belt on. “Man, why isn’t this shit working?” When he finally got his
seat belt on he leaned his head on the steering wheel. Justin
frowned, he couldn’t let this guy drive like this. He took out his cell
phone, “Look
man. I’m calling you a cab.” “Hey
fuck off, fro boy!” The guy screamed hysterically. Justin
turned and called to Joey and Chris. “Guys help me get this guy out of the
car.” The
guy glared at them when they reached the car and started the car. “Stay
the hell away from me,” he screamed. And with that said he screeched out of
the parking lot. “Well
so much for helping out,” Justin said heaving a sigh. “Some
people are just assholes. Can’t say you didn’t try.” Joey grimaced. They
all made their way to Justin’s Mercedes and got in. As Justin drove he
noticed that the car behind him was going pretty quickly and as it came
closer he realized it was swaying dangerously. “Shit.
Some idiot is driving like a fucking moron behind us.” Justin groaned. Joey
looked behind and noticed the car also. “Just switch lanes.” Justin
switched lanes and found himself behind a silver VW Jetta. He looked out from
his rear-view mirror and noticed how close the other car was to them. He also
noticed that it was a red sports car. Toria
was listening to the radio in her silver Jetta when she noticed a red car
speeding up the road. She tried to ignore it but couldn’t when the car
swerved right into the Mercedes behind her. Suddenly
she felt a huge impact from behind, and Toria couldn’t control the scream
that came out as her car crashed and then there was nothing but darkness. Car crash Note: Song used is Car Crash by Our Lady Peace |
