Know your headings: (Vic)toria: following her life. Justin: following his life. In sync: following both their lives at the same time.
(same place) ~~~ Lights...Cameras... Toria... “Mom,”
Toria waved at her mother as she walked across the airport. “Hey
honey,” her mom said taking Toria in a big hug. Her
mom grabbed one of her bags and they made their way towards the doors
outside. Toria
glanced around the airport, looking around for a tall, blond; when she
realized what she was doing she abruptly stopped herself. She would probably
never see the guy again anyway, so what was the point in looking for him? When
they got outside she and her mother made there way to their car and drove
home. “Dad
says hi,” Toria said looking out the car window. Her
mother nodded. “So how was everything? Did you have a good time?” “Yeah.
It was great to see Dad.” Toria smiled. “I missed you though.” “I
missed you too honey,” her mom said sounding choked up. Toria
stifled her laughter at her mom’s overemotional words. She was such a sap. “I
did some new designs,” she said after a while. “I’ll show you them when I get
settled.” “That
sounds great.” As
soon as they got home Toria raced to her room and threw her bags on the floor
and checked her answering machine. She was not surprised when she saw that
just that day three messages had been left for her all from the same person. The
first message was cheery: <<Toria
you will never guess what just happened. Call me to find out. Wait, are you
even back yet? Oh well! Call me ASAP!>> Toria
rolled her eyes as she listened to her best friend Lisa. In
the next message Lisa sounded more exasperated: <<Toria,
pick up the phone! It’s been 2 hours. You said you were coming back today.
This is important, call me!>> The
last was almost desperate and had been left about a half hour before she had
arrived: <<Toria
where are you? I’m freaking out here. If you don’t call me soon I’m going to
barge over there and break in! This is a matter of life and death. Repeat.
LIFE AND DEATH!>> Toria
chuckled. Lisa was way too melodramatic. She
turned on her stereo and picked up the phone. A
frantic voice answered the line. “It’s about time you called me!” “Lisa,
I got home 15 minutes ago,” Toria said grinning. “Well,
I guess you have an excuse then.” Toria
laughed. “Gee thanks. So what’s the matter of life and death?” Lisa
spoke enthusiastically. “Well remember Dana Hamilton?” “Umm
… oh right she was that girl you worked with on that magazine shoot last
year.” “Yeah
her. Anyway we call each other once in a while and when I talked to her a few
hours ago, she mentioned that there’s a party tonight and that a lot of
influential people are going to be there.” “Lisa
that’s amazing. This could be really great for your modeling career.” “I
know! Dana told me that there’d be several designers, magazine people, maybe
even some celebrities.” “Very
cool. So what are you planning to wear?” “Well...”
Lisa said teasingly. “I was thinking of modeling a Freightan original and
bringing the designer along with me.” “Are
you serious? You’re bringing me with you?” “Totally.
As if I wouldn’t bring my very talented best friend with me. Dana did tell me
I could bring someone.” “Lisa
this is great. Maybe I can talk to some designers and get some advice.” “I
know. I’m so wonderful.” Toria
snorted. “And so modest.” Lisa
laughed. “I’ll be over there in an hour.” “Alright,
I’ll see you then.” “Okay
bye.” Toria
hung up the phone grinning all the while. She was very close to achieving her
dreams. She just knew it. *** Justin... “Chris,
I’m way too tired to go out tonight. Ask someone else,” JC said lounging on a
couch. The
guys had just gotten back from the airport. Chris, Joey, Lance and JC were
relaxing in the living room. “What
a surprise. JC’s tired,” Joey said sarcastically. “Joey?
Shut up!” JC growled. Joey
ignoring him, spoke to Chris. “I’ll go with you!” “He’ll
go with you where?” Justin asked Chris as he walked into the room. “Dana
just called me. She wants me to go with her to this party. I want you guys to
come with me so I don’t die of boredom.” “Chris
you have a beautiful girlfriend that wants to go out with you tonight and you
want us to tag along?” Lance asked sceptically. “Hell
yes! You don’t understand how weird Dana gets at these parties. She drags me
over to every friggin’ model agency exec and designer she can find.” “Well,”
Lance drawled. “Since you make it sound so thrilling, I think I’ll stay
here.” Chris
glared at JC and Lance and began mumbling something about friendship. “Well
I have nothing better to do. I’ll go out with you guys tonight,” Justin said
smiling. Chris
grinned. “I knew I could count on you guys.” He turned to the two lounging on
the couch. “Let’s just leave these two lovebirds alone.” He said and ducked
as a throw pillow went flying over his head. |
