The most obvious feature of the
Lee Enfield rifle is
the furniture entirely covering the barrel, and the snub nose cap and foresight
protectors. Half way down the barrel is a prominent open backsight, while the
bolt action and the magazine are the same as those of the earlier Metfords. On
the left side is a long-range sight, and the backsight has a lateral adjustment
classic lines and feel give great confidence to a trained shooter. As with the
Medfords, the bolt action is superb and the Lee Enfield was probably the finest
bolt-action military rifle of its day.
