We checked in around noon time & the international fans are not here yet. We met little Yuhui & Yingying, they were talking with that nice HK guy (who always passed back our signed Faye stuff). He was holding so many packets of Faye stuff, most of them belong to those international fans. Karen (Yingying's friend) also passed some pics for Faye to sign, however she used the wrong envelope, dunno why, there's these wordings outside the envelope (3R costs S$, 4R costs S$ & etc), the guy said Faye is not happy abt this, she also knows there's some pple who gets autographed items to sell for profit, so the guy said Faye wants to "cong gong" the pics (retain the pics). Karen was so shocked, she explained that she has no such intention to sell Faye stuff, she doesn't know abt the envelope thingy, the guy listened to her explanation & said that he'll explain to Faye later.
He then asked us if we know those international fans who passed him those plastic bags of Faye stuff? We said we dunno them but we took a look at what they passed Faye & we almost fainted! There were heaps of Faye Yes! cards, many postcards, tons of Faye pics, posters & album covers & sleeves. Interestingly, Faye signed almost ALL of them!!! We were so angry 'cos these would be put on sale soon, so we told the HK guy to take these stuff & pass back to Faye to keep as souvenirs instead. We told him what the international fans would do later & he asked if what we said is true. We assured him its TRUE many times & explained that these pple should not make a profit out of Faye, he took back all those plastic bags & we're so happy.
We asked him what time Faye is coming down & he said he dunno. However, after sitting in the lobby for 3 nights, we made a few friends with the securities & one of them told us (when his boss is not in vicinity) that Faye will be coming down soon. We were so excited, asked him for what, its still so early, she can't be going for another rehearsal again??? He didn't wanna say at 1st but we said for him, "Faye is going shopping", he just nodded his head
In the meantime, we wrote a short note for Faye. Yuhui brought 2 pics for Faye, one is actually for Angela taken 4 years ago & another one is for Faye, taken in HK last Dec, Faye HK concert. Little Yuhui had developed her films, taken during these 3 days & will be giving Faye 1 booklet. We asked for encore for tonite concert, since tonite is the last nite. We specifically put down some of the songs we liked very much but she didn't sing them last nite (she sang some in HK though). I put down Face 'cos that's my fave, both Yuhui asked for Lost Track, we put down Exit too. In total, we put down 6 songs & asked her to sing any 2 songs for encore.
Scramble, scramble, scramble, again, Faye is coming down NOW. Her maxicab is waiting outside now. This time she's dressed in a yellow top with 3/4 length grey pants, she wore a grey pair of shoes with ribbon in front. It looks very sweet on Faye. Only Angela is with Faye. Security is actually kinda lax too.
We were so excited, Yingying ran up to Faye (frankly always with Faye, we were always a little bit "yu wu lun chi" -- meaning dunno what we say) & told her that we'll be watching her concert again tonite, she added "Wang Fei, we're those noisy group of fans, the ones that made lotsa noise, pls face us often". Faye laughed & turned around, we asked her to "give more attention to us" & she said "hao, hao" (ok, ok). We told her to have more rest & she just smiled. We waved to her at the car window & the maxicab drove away.
My gosh, these few days I've been having lotsa exercise, hehe. We quickly turned back to the hotel & rushed all the way to the back of the hotel 'cos we know she's going shopping. We managed to catch her maxicab & it drove past us & turned left. We were wondering which shopping centre she'll be going. We know she will go to Prada or DKNY, that's her fave. And the nearest & biggest Prada & DKNY shop is just beside the hotel, she could've walked there actually, (that's what Katie & Elaine did).
Christine & Xiaojing had a feeling she might be going to Raffles Hotel Prada to shop instead. However, we decided to see if there's a back entrance for this shopping centre 1st & gosh, another great stroke of luck, while we just climbed the stairs to the back, the maxicab drove up & Faye stepped out!!! She was surprised to see us but she was very happy too, waved, smiled & went into the shop. We didn't go in, of course, we just went down (the shop is 2 storeys & Faye went down mah). We just sat or stood outside & waited for her. However we can see what she was doing inside occasionally 'cos its glass panels mah. Some pple who's dining in the cafeteria outside was awed by her too & they also gathered around to watch. Then, the cafeteria staff called their colleagues quickly & also huddled around to watch her.
We didn't disturb Faye at all, the rest of them (diners & staff) dispersed after a while, just wanna catch a look at this diva. We kept a respectable distance fm Faye & none of us shoot any pics of her. It was so fun to be able to catch glimpses of Faye now & then shopping. She shopped in the guys section 1st, spend some time there, dunno if she bought anything for DW?
Faye is really tall & lanky, & very very slender. She didn't try on any tops at all, she just took the tops (with the hanger still on), placed in front of her, looked into the mirror & she can decide there & then, the process is really fast. She shops really fast, she walked here & there to pick up the clothes, back to the mirror & tried the clothes with her eyes. She's really "qiao" too, hehe, shook her shoulders left & right every time she "tries" a new item & always sa-shays here & there, (you know, the way she "walks" is really funny, her stride is wide but the way she walks is kinda comical & cute, we're so tickled), seems like she esp "modelled" for our sake too. (Hmm, she's not exactly shaking her shoulders, if you've seen some of her clips before, turns her upper torso to the left & right that kinda action). She did that every time she tried clothes with her eyes. Once in a while, she'll turn around to see if we're still around, she smiled shyly when she saw us still waiting outside. Angela was always with her & Angela actually came out to tell us not to follow Faye too closely 'cos Faye wouldn't like it. We understand that as well, we told her we're just sitting here quietly. Besides, Faye was not angry, she even turned around at interval times to smile shyly at us.
Now is the best part in Prada. Faye took a white plaited short skirt & she liked it very much. She gotta try this skirt definitely & as we all know Faye is "lazy" mah, so we're wondering how she'll try the skirt, hehe. She used the shortcut method, she just wore the skirt there & then outside the mirror, on top of the grey 3/4 pants!!! As the pants is longer than the skirt, Faye just bent down to pull up the pants, tucked them under the white skirt & sa-shays around again!!! She showed off her beautiful long legs. Really, her skin is very lovely, very creamy & her legs slender & shapely. Guess maybe Faye bought quite a lot of Prada stuff, but we didn't know 'cos she didn't pay for the stuff, she didn't even carry those stuff she tried. Those security carried bags & bags of stuff to the cab when she was in DKNY.
We went up the stairs after a while since we predicted she'll be going back soon as it was pretty late already, she'll need to go prepare herself for the concert. We made way for Faye, so she can go by the other route to her maxicab. However, to our surprise, as Faye came out of Prada (& we thought she's going back to the hotel), she actually turned & went into DKNY next door. She actually passed by us (very close contact) to use the 2nd DKNY entrance but she was being ushered in by the security using another door which is nearer to her. All DKNY staff, including non-Chinese were so ecstatic to see her. (Prada staff are "cooler").
Only Angela & Elaine were with her inside the shop as Katie was probably settling the bills in Prada, she joined them later. There's another HK guy with Faye, dunno who but Faye seems to be in good terms with him, punched him in the back when she's sitting down trying the shoes.
1st thing Faye did in DKNY was to pick up a kid's clothing, its a white top, with lacy edges on the collar & sleeves & a cute lacy edge as hem. There's an accompanying denim blue short skirt. Its so pretty, Faye passed this to the sales assistant & then she proceeded with her own shopping. The sales assistant came back later to show her a new piece of this clothing & she nodded consent. (I guess Faye does buy lotsa stuff for Tongtong, everyday too, hehe, what a lucky baby!!!)
Faye didn't really try any clothes in DKNY, she looked more at accessories like sunglasses & shoes. She saw 2 pairs of the same design shoes, different colour, red & blue or grey. Funny thing is, she just picked up the shoes from the display rack, sit down right in front of us (we're outside the glass panels but she sat facing us) & tried on the shoes, she put on the red pair 1st, then she took out one & tried on the other colour. With different colours, she walked (very fast) to the mirror behind to see the effects. She also asked the HK guy for opinions when she came back & her expression is just like a little girl seeking acknowledgement, its really cute, like "sha jiao" like that. Then, Katie came in & surprisingly, she also took the same pair of shoes Faye tried earlier to try on. (They had the same taste???) Dunno if Faye did buy the shoe though.
While Faye was trying the shoes, she looked up & saw us & she smiled again. There were many shoppers in DKNY & a few asked for her autographs there, she obliged & signed quite a few. Then, the DKNY staff also asked for her autographs. Wow, Faye really signed on the spot, at least you know the autographs are really signed by Faye & not by her other staff.
After signing some autographs, she walked to the sunglasses counter & she helped herself there since there's no sales assistant around to assist her. She took a pair of sunglasses out & tried on, we saw her big beautiful eyes! (She wore sunglasses thru'out while she's shopping). She looked into the mirror to see the effect & then smiled at us with her new sunglasses on. Her expression is really cute. She tried many pairs of sunglasses but I dun think she bought any. Elaine passed a few more pairs to her & she tried on. She made an awful expression whenever the sunglasses dun suit her.
She didn't spend lotsa time in DKNY. She went to the cashier counter, wait for Tongtong's clothing to be wrapped & prepared to leave soon. (Maybe she really like the way the cash register sounds when its opened & watched how the clothes are being wrapped, like what she mentioned in the CTN interview) 'cos she stood at the counter for some time.
We made way for Faye to leave. Little Yuhui managed to slip the pics we took earlier of Faye to her. Normally stuff passed to Faye will be taken by Angela or Katie or those around her 'cos they always said Faye wouldn't take anything, but this time Faye personally took the photo album herself. She immediately flipped open the album while walking to her maxicab & she "huh, oh" on her way back to the cab, we can see & sense that she's really amused & happy.
When her maxicab left, we run at 100m speed (far fm it lah, hehe) back to the hotel & we reached the hotel before her. (Hehe, its sometimes better to walk 'cos there's heavy motor traffic mah). We welcomed Faye back again at the hotel & she's really amused to see us again. We told her quickly "meet at the concert tonite", she nodded her head to us & replied "hao, hao" (ok, ok).
Well, the concert posters are different & its kinda cheap too, however I discovered I already had the same poster already, but never mind, I'll just keep as souvenir lah. They were selling those black Faye Scenic Tour Concert t-shirt as well, costs S$20 per piece. I thought its pretty expensive but then I had all along wanted that t-shirt, so I bought one as well. I didn't wear though. I didn't wear anything black lah 'cos CNY coming, so must wear something brighter for good luck, hehe.
As mentioned, the concert booklet is given out free. We (me, Karen & Yuhui) were very lucky, we got the booklets on the 1st night & managed to let Faye autographed our booklets the next day. This'll be so memorable!!!
Tonite concert was a great success, though her voice sounded a little "coarser" than last nite, but we understand, she had a cold, nonetheless it didn't spoil our nite 'cos her performance is really very good. She sang perfectly, pitch for pitch, note for note for all songs. I'm very amazed, she also delivered the 1st song Love Life perfectly!!! (If those who went to the HK concerts remember, she hadn't really warmed up yet when she sang Love Life then, but in S'pore, she's really perfect. My friends were saying that perhaps in HK, she was "stranded" high up there & coming down, so she might be a little afraid, that's why her voice is kinda different, but in S'pore, she came up fm below & she's not really suspended high, so she felt more comfortable, well, maybe?)
The audience was very very high tonite, fm all 4 blocks, of course our block is still the best, thanks to Mingyi & group for the good co-ordination work. We practically stand thru'out the concert, Faye faced us most of the time, even more than the 1st nite. We danced & jumped with most of her more rocky songs, like Fu Zao, Men, Zheng Tuo, Meng Zhong Ren. She was very happy to see us so motivated.
After singing 1 Person 2 Roles, we thought the song had ended but she sorta bend down a little & after the last drum beat, jumped real high into the air. Now you dun see this kind of actions fm Faye very often, I guess every actions she does is really natural & spontaneous, on the spot. We were so high to see her do that & most of us went a little crazy. My friend who was at the concert & sitting behind me saw me, after the concert, she said she couldn't recognise me at all 'cos I've never shown that side of personality before, I'm always more reserved mah. Of course only Faye can make me do this lah. I'll always relish this wild moment with Faye!!!
Frankly though, I admit Faye is not the ideal so-called entertainer 'cos she doesn't prepare any choreographed dances, she can't actually dance very well, I suppose (I dunno abt this anyway), she doesn't really try to interact with the audience, even if she tries to make some really small talk, she always almost has nothing much to say except to thank the audience again & again for turning up. But heck, this is Faye Wong, she doesn't need to do any of the above. We just wanna see her live, listen to her sing live, that's all. All being said though, Faye REALLY exudes charm thru'out the whole concert. She's really in a class of her own, she's really got charisma & attracts your attention wherever she goes. Her own small mannerisms are captivating enough, the occasional shoulder shakes, her small attempt to dance in her own way, the way she raises her hand, glides her hand smoothly & gracefully to the rythm of the music, shakes her head or hand to the beats of the music, tapping her foot to the beats, even if she closes her eyes, concentrates on her singing & totally immerses in her own world of feeling, all these STILL exudes irresistible charm. I'm just totally captivated by her & I guess this is the same case for the rest as well. Faye is really a diva. She didn't say anything like "I love you" those kinda cheap promo gigs but we just love & appreciate her fm our hearts all the same!!!
As mentioned, we asked her to sing encore & had passed her certain songs to sing later but there's no encore at all. She kept stressing that this is the last song (zhi mi bu hui) for tonite, this is REALLY the last song for tonite. You can guess our great disappointment.
Our S'porean audience this time is definitely higher than those HK audience & I hope Faye really enjoys herself here in S'pore too, (after 4 long years). Except for this, everything in HK is far better, the stage design, costume changes. I dun mind so much abt the costumes but I do think the S'pore stage is a great disappointment, I believe only those who've seen the HK design will understand. Besides, the lighting effects were poor, the screen animation awful & kinda cheapskate, except those video clips on Faye, Tongtong & DW. The screen is so small, just like lecture theatre size or even smaller? There's a bad echo in the stadium & sometimes the sound system is bad. Only Faye (& her band as well) saves the show with her unique personality, grace, charm & incredibly marvellous voice.
Frankly, we were very sad after Faye left the concert for her celebration party. We were so down. At 1st, we thought we wanna follow Faye to the party but decided against it 'cos we're too tired, so we went back to the hotel to rest & have a quick supper.
Little Yuhui & Yingying went to Chijmes for the celebration party though. They managed to catch Faye dancing, & many pple toasting Faye. They also saw DW dancing, which according to them is very funny. They mentioned that Faye was slightly drunk too after numerous toastings.
After our late nite dinner, we went back to our room to replay the concert that's just ended. We were so down & moody that we felt like crying. We heard the next day that Faye came back to the hotel abt 5 mins after we went up to our room, urghhh!!!
Really, we were so moody the whole nite. Penny played the concert for us all over again & we took turns trying to be high again. We just took a few hours sleep & rest & checked out early the next morning 'cos Faye will be going back to Beijing, morning flight.
